Hello.

Can someone please give me information about the dragon axes... Are they much better at cutting than rune? I heard that they cut 15% faster? Is this true?

Thanks.

I'm not sure if jagex ever said exactly how much faster they are, but general consensus is 15%, and yes they do cut faster. However i've heard everything from 10-50% faster.

All i know of jagex ever saying is (22 August 2006 news post):

Dragon Axe improved

Until today the dragon axe was only as good at cutting trees as a rune axe. We've now made it slightly better! However we have raised the woodcutting level requirement for chopping trees with this axe to 61.

If i remember correctly they said 40k-50k% when i sent in a query about it.

But they are better and worth the extra $ if you need to woodcut.

If you plan on woodcutting for a long time, then the dragon axe is definitly a safe bet to buy.

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

I went to cut willows to see for my self and it seems so much faster than a rune axe.

Dragon axe is only slightly better than a rune ax.

i doubt a dragon axe is worth it if you are cutting willows, those are going to be fast no matter what, if you were saying yews or magics it would make more sense.

I'm cutting willows to 99 right now, and the switch from a rune axe to a dragon axe was a noticeable difference. I have heard it increases speed by 2.5%, maybe I'm wrong. It seemed to increase by at least 10%, probably more.

perfect grammar is one thing, typing like a drugged monkey and enjoying it is another

AMEN!

well d ax is alot but pretty good and worth it if u are gonna be wcing alot. a couple days ago i was wcing with my 78wc friend and i had let him use my d ax for awhile.i was using rune while he was borrowing my d one. and we were matching eachother load for load. so all i can say is a 78wcer with a d ax cuts as fast as a 87wcer with a rune ax

edit:lol i was 86 wc at the time :-#

i belive d ax makes a way bigger inpact on willows than yews or magics and im pretty sure it might be over 10% just based on my experiences with the amazing d ax =D>
