Lionheart_0
I don't use medication. I used to take stuff for colds and flues when i was little, but i just started refusing to take the stuff over the past few years. I don't need anything in me really. I have a really hard time swallowing pills, so every time ive ever had anything prescribed for me, I have always had the liquid form because i feel like im gonna choke and start to gag a lot when something as big as even a 1mm in diameter pill touches the back of my throat. I just deal with headaches if they come and any other pain if it comes. I rarely get headaches, and i have a very good immune system so i rarely get sick (I never take a flue shot, and I've had it once in my life). I am also immune to chicken pox (Genetic thing as my dad is also immune). It really bugs me when I see people "have" to have pill each time they get a headache. I dont understand why they dont just deal with them, as when I get them, its just a little throbbing hurt, nothing more. Maybe more people should go see the doctor about it? Tribal
Oh my... I'm glad you told me this. Because I'm actually thinking about changing to something else. If I miss a capsule one day, I literally feel like I'm going to go insane. Withdrawal symptoms set in very quickly and they're very unpleasant. It has also given me sleeping problems. I've been on it for over two years now, and I have to say that it's been helpful. I've never experienced aggressiveness or anger, but I just think at this point something else would work better for me. Thank you so very much for this information though. :D get your xanax/prozac game up :XD:

knives669
Make sure you go to the doctor before you stop, you can't suddenly stop with Effexor because it gives your body extreme withdrawals. You need to gradually come off the drug, while coming down from it you will experience headaches, dry reaching, thought complications, moods swinging from depression to mania and quite possiblily crying for no reason to a mild break down. The symptoms will last approx 2-3 weeks and the first week will range from moderately difficult to extremely difficult for you. A lot of people I have found are able to live without medication after a course of 1-3 years on Effexor-Xr but that totally depends on how bad your depression is too. What it DOES do though once you have stopped the course of the drug for 1-3 years is matures your mind. You will start to analyse things in your past where you could have made better decisions, find things enjoyable again and find it easier to talk to people. A set back however will be that the anxiety might come back but you've already mentioned you take another prescribed medication for that so you should be fine. Hopefully you won't have to switch to any new meds and live a close to happy life without them, I wish you luck. If you need some support while coming off them just give me a buzz. Thank you so much! Even being off it for one day is enough to drive me insane. :S So, I KNOW that this is going to be very tough for me. I'd like to to try to see if I can go for awhile without medication as far as my depression is concerned, but my anxiety is still a completely different problem which I'm trying to slowly work through. Thanks again for the information you provided! :D It's very helpful and now I can prepare for what I may have to endure.
