Gaming computer?

What is a good gaming computer?

Dell

Windows

Alienware

Custom

The computer has to be below 700 dollars

The probably most difficult game to run on the computer would be Oblivion.

I'm getting a computer and i need to know what is good gaming computer with out going overboard and still having good software.

And the cavemen wondered how to make fire...

Im in the .00001% that finds Firemaking fun. If you find it fun add this to your siggy.

Well if you want a gaming computer you should build it yourself and you will save a lot of money.

If not, Alienware is the best for gaming but are vastly overpriced.

What's you budget for this computer?

Alien-ware by value for money is at the bottom of the list.

But as blade995 asks, budget? Without that - we're all hard-pressed to point you in the right direction.

What games do you want to play? Will you be looking into getting DX10/Vista? What is your budget? You can build a computer on newwgg for a LOT cheaper than what alienware will charge.

Get it built by a local computer shop or build it yourself. Any other brand of computers that label their computer for 'gaming' is WAY too expensive for what they give you.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

First of all, Windows isn't a company. :-s Microsoft doesn't even build computers. You're going to have a very hard time finding a real "gaming" computer for under $700, but it is possible if you custom-build it. However, it seems like you hace no idea what you're doing so until you become more educated on the subject of computer building you should rule out building your own. Any shop that will build it for you will charge a huge amount of money. Alienware is very overpriced for what you get, and Dell is cheap as long as you choose the base specs.

I built a gaming computer (quite capable of playing whatever I throw at it so far) for around $800, so its possible.

You definitely have to build it yourself though.

At that price range...you won't get anything other than intergrated graphics unless you get a custom PC. If you can stretch your budget by 100 or so dollars, you can put together something decent. You won't want to skimp on the processsor (I recommend an e4300) or the video card (You'll want something better than a 6600gt, which is what my old PC used to have, and i could barely play on min. settings). Go to tomshardware or hardocp, and browse the forums for a better idea of what to put in your pc.
