Dukc
I may be have help avaible, but what IS the tank pure? Long live the mighty runite warhammer, the only guardian defending f2p from overpower of tank pures!
Kietaro1
Pure defense + prayer? I would not think that to be an effective build in runescape. Unless Jagex releases raiding of some sort.
gun_hippy
Isn't a tank pure kindov a contradiction in terms? O.o in pking terms i always thought tank = high def(with a maxed out assault stat, ranged normally), pure = low def O.o So how can you have a tank pure? :s
Hammertime
Isn't a tank pure kindov a contradiction in terms? O.o in pking terms i always thought tank = high def(with a maxed out assault stat, ranged normally), pure = low def O.o So how can you have a tank pure? :s pure doesn't necessarily mean low defence, in fact when the term pure came out it meant that your hp level was higher than your combat... but as for a tank pure guide... you need to be more specific as to what type of tank you are making (i.e. range or mage), how high you want your pray to be, (52 for smite or now 70 for the new prayer) and just get your mage/range up to a respectable level and get defence while leaving attack and strength as well as other combat boosters as low as possible with the exception of hp. Celestrana
Traditionally, "tanks" were characters that were built to take a lot of damage and last a long time in battle. "Tanks" basically relied almost entirely on HP and defence. An incredibly high defence protected the "tank" from damage and an incredibly high HP allowed the "tank" to absorb a lot of damage whenever it broke through their defences. These characters were created as "front line" characters to protect weaker players in a party. "Back line" characters like a wizard or a ranger would fire off their attacks at a safe distance, while avoiding damage. Since RS doesn't have a party system, a suitable "tank" should still have incredibly high HP and defence stats, coupled by suitable armor. The magic and range skills don't drastically affect your combat level, so levelling either one or both is also a good idea. Your character would be rather useless if all you can do is absorb damage and not be able to deal any back. CampbellMC
It sounds like you are just looking to be a hybrid tank. I am currently making one myself but it will be a high level tank. I got 70 attack and str first and then now im just leveling defense straight to 80+, I am also ranging like crazy. Just remember: 1) Don't pc cause you want the hp experience 2) Keep your attack and str low (don't level after 70 in my case). 3) Get pray to atleast 52... if not 60 or 70 for the new prays.
