If you're doing that quest you need mith+. Use the bestiary to find what monsters drop. Just buy from anouther player and if you have the smithing you can make a mithril 2h spear. That is all I know of, because that is what I train on. :) Any monster that drops rune spears is very rare. I've got 2 left half shields from fire giants and no rune spear yet. :P But I would try and make one the barbarian way, much faster. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.
