Yeah...I just saw this movie. It's part fairy tale and part comedy, a bit tongue-in-cheek and not real self-serious swords-and-sorcery stuff. I thought it was pretty good. More complex, more interesting, more romantic, and more funny, than your average fairy tale.(More info on it here.)

Anyone else see it yet? Or planning to see it?

I got the movie afew days ago, and I must admit I loved it.

Admittedly I am a fan of fantasy and medieval genre movies, however I think this movie has appeal to even those of you who are not peticularly fond of such things.

You have a fantasy setting complete with a mix of comedy, romance, violence, sibling rivalry, and many other factors.

If thats not enough, Robert De Niro's role is purely hilarious. For those of you who haven't seen it, heres a clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQKrgi2PMz8

Is it still playing? I saw it three months ago in cinema or something. But yea, it was amazing. It was everything something like Narnia wants to be. An exciting, romantic, funny fantasy film for the entire family.

Anyone know the DVD release dates in the UK for this? I loved this film, and think it'd make a nice addition to my collection.

It's funny- my mom just got an e-mail from Netflix saying this movie would arrive here Monday. I wonder, "Stardust? What's that?" and then I found this thread

Didn't think much of this movie to be honest. I thought it was too childish (akin to Narnia). Some of the sets were impressive and I loved the alternative technology stuff, but I just felt the movie lacked a lot of substance. I guess you need to read the novels to fully appreciate what the dust does.... to someone like myself who hasn't read them, it just seemed like a tacky plot device (and a weak one at that).

I don't remember anything about dust, except one scene. I don't think it does anything, it's not a part of the story. The story was basically the love story.

That's what I thought was going on, but wasn't sure because there was a small part with dust in it. :D

I thought this movie was crappy and naive Mr. Green But apparently some people do like this movie.

Really predictable movie, but if you have a thing for fantasy movies with romantic twists, go see this.

It's more of a fun movie, like The Princess Bride.

I think most movies are predictable these days

Anyway, I saw the movie in theaters a couple months ago. When I first saw the preview, I thought it looked like the dumbest movie ever. Then my friend dragged me to the theater to see it with her and I loved it! Now I have it on DVD actually <3: But if you're not a fan of fantasy or romantic movies, this one isn't for you.
