What armour is available to me for use? Iron for melee obviously, but what about magic and range? and where do i buy the items?

For Mage wear the blue wizard robes as they provide a better magic bonus than the dark robes. You can get the hat and top by killing wizards at the wizard tower, and the skirt from the clothes shop and Varrock. For range you can only use hard leather body and legs, coif and a vembrace (or so I think). You can get these in the general store in Al Kharid (people sell their crafted items there).

mage skirt gives no bonuses so it is for looks only.

For the best mage bounse at 1 def without doing DT, blue wizzy robe top, zammy robes bottom and gnome hat. God cape after doing the mini game. And best ranged set up is:best chaps and vambs you can wear, leather body, ranger boots, coif. I hope I helped. If your f2p then i didn't really :|

I am p2p but I will probably PK f2p.

ghostly robes for mage p2p pking and green chaps for range. blue mage robes are the best for f2p

And if you are going to use a robe bottom, use something like the shade bottoms or the monk bottoms, as they have better bonuses than a skirt :|
