August 20, 200718 yr Using a mouse, MS Paint... with a simple HP Photosmart basic special effect on it (soft glow). Let me know what you think... cc is very welcome! (Remember, it is my first try!)
August 20, 200718 yr One word.... shading. Need help or advise? Have a question? Just PM me through Runescape or Tip.it. :)
August 20, 200718 yr Hard to tell what angle this is on, since the top shelf has either things about to fall off of it, or it's on an unusual angle to everything else, whilst the bottom shelf only shows a side view. 99 / 99 Mining 89 / 99 Smithing 87 / 90 Strength SKILL TOTAL: 1836 / 2000
August 20, 200718 yr YA^ You should really use the shading and stuff on your own...thats what makes it true art :)
August 20, 200718 yr Nice trying but very low shading. Try to shade it again, recolor and shade. Remember that fire and sun are light source! ----TheLair Game!----"Game isn't dead... You wish!"
August 20, 200718 yr The angle of the wall and the angle of the objects that are on the wall isn't the same, which makes it look a tad strange. Experiment with coloured outlines too, for instance on the sword use grey lines rather than black, slightly darker than its base colour, should give it a more realistic look. The glow effect you used doesn't look too great nor is it accurate, you would be much better off hand pixeling it, remember the light sources would be the window and the fire. Pretty decent for a first try though.
August 20, 200718 yr The wood is beautiful. I think the fireplace needs some depth to it. I would make it a greyish black inside. Is that one window with the mountain a painting or a window? For a first piece, not too bad. Just work on shading, read a bunch of tutorials, look at a lot of pixels.
August 21, 200718 yr Author thank you all very much for all the feedback... hopefully be seeing a re-do soon! :D
August 21, 200718 yr I think you are taking on too much by trying to pixelate a scene as complex as this, as mentioned you aren't making true-pixelart. every individual pixel has to be hand placed, if it really isn't your cup of tea dont take up pixelart. Maybe you would enjoy other forms of digital art, where you can be free use those sort of tools to achieve your desired effect. If you really do want to be a pixel-artist I suggest you start on something smaller, it all comes down to having to learn the fundamentals.
