August 29, 200718 yr Vegemite vegemite vegemite, give marmite the respect it deserves! Sanitarium Marmite. Vegemite is just so gross, I do not find it any stronger then marmite though, just has a taste that deeply offends me as a smack in the mouth. Haha, on the subject of toast, don't you hate it when you put your toast down, come back, and it's long since popped? With no chance of getting the melted butter effect that you affectionately love? What I do is I still go ahead and spread the butter, then chuck it in the toaster for about 5 - 10 seconds, gets that buttery goodness melted. Heres a favourite, have any of you ever had marmite and salt & vinegar chip sandwiches? If you haven't, I suggest you do, bloody brilliant.

August 29, 200718 yr I've had 3 vegemite sandwiches today. 8-) It's an artform to make a good vegemite sandwich. The spread of both butter and vegemite must be equal and to the very crust. To achieve an equal spread and avoid clumping, take the desired quantity of vegemite on the knife and scrape on the lip of the jar to soften prior to application. Spread equally onto the butter and ensure a sufficient combination of the two to again avoid clumping and to assure an equal spread. There ya go, condiment application processes 101. :XD: :P Now, having toast in my opinion is different. You need to spread heaps of butter on while the toast is hot so that your piece of toast is smothered in butter. Then you smear over the vegemite in little patches. =Yum Indeed, but I prefer english muffins for the molten butter effect. Soaks it up nicely. Yummo (and a future heart attack waiting to happen :XD: )
August 29, 200718 yr No one has told me yet if Pop-Tarts are banned in Australia or not :?: i heard they were I asked a man about that once. He just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwhich. Haha I lol'd at the Men at Work reference. By the way I had vegemite and Cheese under the grill for breakfast. So Tasty! =P~
August 29, 200718 yr Author I guess the whole vegemite/marmite thing is like the coke/pepsi argument, to me, they both seem to be the same, with only minor, irrelevant differences. And yeah, toast is one of the key ingredients to making you're average sandwhich delicious. I've recently been indulging in cheese on toasted sandwhiches, (Not melting the cheese) It's absolutely brilliant and I'd advise everyone to try it. Another strange food argument or whatever I've had with my family, is that I only use butter on warm toast, where as my family uses it on bread, biscuits, etc, same with salt, I'll only use it if the fish and chips haven't got enough on, where as my family salts everything up.
