How much is Jagex in it for the money?

100%?

If they weren't in it for the money, they never would have started this game.

Rs wasnt made out of need for money, as a matter of fact rs only became p2p couse andrew gower couldnt afford server costs, it was after he made members and money started pouring in that andrew realised he had a cash cow and naturally has milked it for all its worth.

On andrews old home page he has an entry that says, hopefully enough players click the advertisements so i can afford to keep this game free.

This scares me next you'll be trying to tell me Microsoft are in it for the money :o

As many have said yes they are in it for the money, but they still provide us with what we want so they are doing it in the right way.

Games like FlyFF are in it for the money they will not help players with technical issues, just add new cash shop items every week and has bug in game that are over 3 years old. (Cash shop is where you buy items for real cash)

They have no intention in fixing the game just making sure they add new items to gain more players.

Play that game for 2 months and you'll see how good RuneScape is.

This kind of update is ulikely to attract that many new players as it is aimed at such a high level.

The updates that mist attract to new members are medium level updates as this is the most common level people will become a member. It is also the level of the majority of players in the game which is why alot of updates are aimed that way.

The recent high level content updates are a reflection of player demoand, it was agreed with player and Jagex that high levels where beeing neglected in new content, and that the need some new things to keep the game balanced. This is what they are doing.

At the end of the day it's a business so money is important, but just remember the company could close tomorrow, and andrew and paul would walk away from it with over 100 million pounds (about 200million dollars).... if they had no intrest in the community, it's player, and the game it's self they would not be there any more.

jagex do care.....money is important but it is not what drives them.

Jagex knows improving the game will mean more money so they improve the game so that they can get more money. They are much more distant though compared to RSC so much more in for the money than before. I just hope it doesn't turn into a faceless corporation
