How2PK
First of, Azvy made an exception for me, this piece does not mean Azvy is going to make signatures for trade now. Also it had a special price, which is: I've decided to make this price because I wanted to pay and I don't play rs, plus Azvy is what you might call a Donnie Darko fan too, so this seemed like a reasonable payment. Enough about payment agreements and explanations. Here is the signature! I asked Azvy to do this because of his project of the Nightwish album, which was amazing, IMHO. He did a personal interpretation of the atmosphere in the signature, searched a while for the original Donnie Darko fond which is used on posters and so forth. For the technical details, I don't know anything about it, but I bet you guys can see what is used, lol. Well, uhm, rate it, I guess. :P Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!

Myweponsg00d
Okay if no one flames him I'm gonna be mad. This sig does not convey the "mood of the movie" any more than my sig did. Also, it is very simple. Colorized, blended, and blurred. Mine even had animation, and it had a cool pic of Frank. This has a very odd looking pic of Donnie. If you guys who hated mine like this one, I hate you all. Also, he used the lamest quote possible. Dark, darker, darko? That was the stupidest slogan that anyone ever came up with. He could've at least used the 28 days thing. Anyway, I love the sig. Its simple, but thats how the sig should look IMO.. However, I loved my sig too, and people did nothing but complain about how it didnt "convey the mood" or whatever. I dont know how a blue haze and a blurry picture conveys more darkness than BLACK! But, apparently they like urs more than mine. The only problem I have with it is the quote...I hate that quote. Need assistance in any of these skills? Someone's a bit mad because someone didn't like his sig.... First off, the sig is much more than what you think it is. its called brushing, what you did was a filter pile. First big difference. his actualy looks good for one. Your's was a stupid , quite bad, picture that didn't fit AT ALL. his the picture blends in perfectly, he photomaniped it quite a bit, and just plain looks better. The Text also is much better than yours. Yours was a plain animation of a quote with, well plain text that you did nothing to. The quote he has, ever think that perhaps How2pk wanted that quote on there? and from what i can see, its a better quote than having to sit through and read through yours, which i doubt many people , if any, will. Overall, his is better than yours. It also actualy looks good, whereas yours was bad. And.. even to go further, yes his was much harder to make than yours. So please, stop the jelousy and at least get some real fact's about the sig before you go acusing people.

He could've at least used the 28 days thing. Well, this signature does convey the mood of the movie. It is dark, Azvy found a picture of Donnie looking in a very "dark" way, his eyes starring into oblivion, his head bending over, the colors well chosen, white on his face, which is white, darker for the hair and his shirt, which are dark. This way get's one with the signature, that's probably now how you say it in a cool way, but I don't know much about all the art-language. Also the "Dark Darker Darko" quote, I did not pick it (I didn't pick any quote), but I liked it, it 's one of the taglines and I think the 28 days blabla quote is overdone; "Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?" would be a better one for your signature, IMHO. But let's not make this a fight about Donnie Darko signatures, please. what was it made in? did you like ship it to him or something? if so you now know his address.... and ppl would pay money for that.... I don't know what program Azvy used. Yes, I'm going to ship it, will be somewhere between the 15th and the 18th of March, because I have my sallary then. :D I already sold Rhys Azvy's adres, so I could buy his (Rhys's) love. 8) Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! Myweponsg00d
What I'm saying is, I dont see how anyone who complained about my sig could not complain about his. My sig was not even a filter pile, as I used no filters to even make it... I used a simple gradient BG, and cut out a picture of frank, and frankly (no pun) I didnt want to make it look like his. I find that blurry mess of junk very boring. Tell me how that sig was any harder to make? 1. Cut out donnie 2. Make the text 3. Stroke the text, shadow the text 4. Warp the text 5. Colorize the whole thing 6. Blur the **** out of it. To the extent of where you cant even see his chin anymore. Come on Nad...youve seen other sigs I made. How can a picture not fit on a black background? Wait...heres a concept that will blow your mind: Maybe something DIFFERENT was done on the media bored! :o No way! Maybe the background WASNT supposed to take away from the subject in the picture. How the hell could that be? Why would someone make something different? I mean cmon...we all have to make stuff with a really complex background right? Why can't a sig be like an avatar? Just nice and simple...maybe just showing that you are a fan of something... This is why I never come to this bored anymore...everyone is either a jerk, a wannabe, or a 'pixeler' who draws like a four year old. Nadril
mywepon.... sorry to tell you, but you tried to use sarcasm, and you failed, horibly also, a quick note to how2pk: sorry for spaming your thread, this will be my last post :P if wepon wants to take it up with me later he can pm me. anyways: a simple gradient bg. I'm sorry, but i must have mistooken it for some of your other backgrounds. A gradient bg isn't even better. now, you complain that we should like your sig because its simple. Well, get this, a stolen picture and a graident does not equal a simple sig, or i should say a good sig. Now.. i'm just going to answer your questions one by one, just so this doesn't get all messed up; 1. "how can a picture not fit a black background?" : Yours was a graident first. It wasn't black. there wasn't even that much black in it. Plus, the sig just did not fit. Cutting out a picture and putting it on a graident does not automaticly make it "ubar-1337" or whatever the hell you want to call it. It just looks bad. 2. something different on the media board...: yeah... sure. Trust me, i have seen plenty of minamalistic sigs on the boards before. I have done them plenty times my self, and a lot of my freinds have to. my freind Cal does minimalisim alot, and trust me, its a lot more than getting a stolen picture off the net and putting it on a gradient. Minamlisim sigs usualy relly on a vector (usualy simplistic in nature) or perhaps a simplistic render. either way, most minimalisim artists don't use stolen pictures, and the good ones don't at all. 3. a sig like an avatar: well, yes they can. if they are done good. Yours wasn't. 4. "a jerk, wannabe, or a 'pixeler' who draws like a four year old. : thank you my freind for sterotyping everyone. yes , i agree, there are some people who are just plain jerks, or are people who just want to seem big and tough, and yes, there are some horible drawers here. but, there are plenty of people that arn't These are the kind of people that can take a bit of critsim, and don't just say "IM GOING TO QUIT! YOU HURT MY FEELINGS!" Also, before you say "you don't know what it feels like blablabla" save it. i've had plenty of "critisim" and worse in my time on these forums. i didn't just sudenly pop up and be a decent artist, i did have to work to get where i am, and am still working. Alot of people today think that there is an easy way out for art. But realy, there isn't. You can't fool a lot of us. we know what looks good and what doesn't, and a lot of experianced members can tell how you made a sig or graphic to an extent. 5. never posting on the media board again : Well, i'm sorry i offended you in so many ways, but i have to say, you brought this apon yourself  . Like i said before, it realy doesn't hurt the comunity to loose another member that just makes sigs to "get rich on rs" or that whines when they get a tad bit of critisim. Also, to kind of sum up this post. Like i said before, azvy BRUSHED that right there is harder than the entire sig you did, and then some. as before like i said, The picture fits, it fits the mood of the movie from what i can see, where as yours was a graident with a picture on it and animated text (woo, so hard. see i can be sarcastic too) and you say that this sig here should be flamed like mad because yours did not get good "rates" or whatever. Thats not the way things work around here. as I said before, alot of people know what looks good. and by the way, just incase you do ever come back (which now i'm slightly doubting...) feel free to pm me with concerns, or perhaps if you need some C&C on a sig. Like i've said before in other posts, I am willing to help anyone, as long as they are willing to help themselves first  ~Nadril

Now, i'm sure you have seen me bring many randomly brushed sigs down to their knees, or whatever. But there is a different between random spas kind of brushing and actual brushing. Even though both of them beat a filter pile, the actual brushing, where you have an idea of the sig before you start, and don't just go "click click click" all over the place randomly. If anyone else has a problem with me feel free to pm me. ps: How2pk, if this gets any worse i can get peter to clean up this thread a bit :)

I swear everytime you brush a sig you have an orgasm. "OMG I BRUSHED A SIG YOU NOOBS NOW GET ON YOUR KNEES AND BOW BEFORE ME!!!!!!!!" The brushing is not the significance its the complexity and time frame of the brushing in relation to the gradient/Filter pile. Brushing is a unique form of expressing emotion, through artistic strokes. a gradient can not represent emotions, it can be barely repressent a background. I personally do not understand what this movie is or actor (query?) But a peice that has a emotional representation on an artistic level is going to rate better than a poorly cropped picture on a gradient background. Your attempt to humiliate azvy and how2pk are just a lame attempt to help your self ego rise because your piece was flamed and degraded. Nacho, your obvious understanding of art is very minimal if your unable to see the representation it produces. Not everyone aims to make an Absract that has no apparent meaning Overall the sig is pretty good, its a typical azvy sig, as soon as i saw it i knew who made it. Style plays a part in artistic/ plain viewing ratings. if your immaturity is going to stop you from using the media board maybe you shouldnt visit here. if you cant take criticism. its not designed to hurt you but help you enhance your abilities. RaenonD
Not a bad looking signature overall, though I agree it's a terrible quote, and the name presentation is just... ill-fitting. I would have picked a better background than the mountain shown- perhaps the view over Donnie's hometown, from the road where he exitted the "tangent universe" (to the uninitiated: knowledge of the movie makes all the difference). Though I'm perhaps simply not recognizing the mountain range, and it does carry a significance, it appears to me to simply be a random object thrown in. The presentation on Donnie's face, and the overall colorization of the background and other elements however is superbly matched (though I still don't like the way the name is actually displayed). The slight blurring of the image does enhance it, as much of the movie incorporated an ethereal blurring of reality, and even uses it's own imagery to impart that idea. Overall, I'd give it an 8/10. Aww, what the heck, I'll bump it up to 9/10 because you used Donnie Darko instead of some random and entirely meaningless source image ;) Semi-Permanent Interim Temporary Leader of the Supposed Inmates of the Alleged Insane Asylum of What May Or May Not Be RuneScape
Azvareth
I haven't read every reply posted here, but I feel obliged to reply (even if I'm in a hurry): the quote I chose was just a (in lack of better words) spawn-of-the-moment kind of thing; the area under the name looked empty, I had a sudden urge to use the Donnie Darko-font where it actually looked like it (it isn't that obvious in the name, I think), I remembered that line from either the movie or the trailer (I'm positive I saw it in the latter) and I thought it was cool and was appropriate for the signature. But yeah, it might sound corny and stupid; and he didn't ask for it to be a part of the signature. However, I didn't see any objections from How2PK's side. If he didn't want it there, I'd remove it - simple as that. Also, Myweponsg00d, please don't flame the signature/me/How2PK/the people who replied just because mine recieved better comments than yours did. I never got the chance to see your signature, because it never displayed for me (checked several times). But I find it ridiculous that you feel the need to flame people just because they didn't like your signature. Different people have different preferences, deal with it. Also, don't make assumptions about how I make my signatures, because I can assure you that 50% of what you just "assumed" isn't true. Plus, everything I added to the signature had a meaning (even the colours); I didn't "blur Donnie to the extent where you can't even see his chin anymore" just for the heck of it. Did it ever cross your mind that I might've wanted to emphasize a specific part of him? Apparently not. Sorry for the dodgy and confusing post... but it was written in a hurry (I'm currently having PC class, and people are constantly bugging me...). // Azvi.
