You can easily expect killing more then 10K+ without getting one, better do some slayer instead. gun_hippy Posted September 4, 2007 Share Posted September 4, 2007 Most drop rates are merely hearsay, i beleive the general consensus is that the drop rate is roughly 1/20,000. I have however heard everything from 1/10,000 to 1/40,000. Remember however, that that is the probability. You can get one on the first kill, or the millionth. ROW will help a teeny bit, it will increase the probability. It is, of course, impossible for us to estimate when you will get one. If everybody killed millions of dust devils every day, the AVERAGE time people will get one is on the 20,000th kill. But that would have to be an average over a large sample. I do not reccomend killing dust devils AIMING for a chain unless you have very good patience. I suggest killing them for levels, usign your level goals as encouragement, and hey; you migth get a chain along the way ;) Dust devils are in the smokey well. Refer to tip.it's "desert treasure" quest guide. Do up to the part where you enter the smokey well. You do not need to complete the quest, just up to that part. Good luck. Do you mean jagex changes it occasionally. Blogs don't mean anything. I asked you for proof from jagex about this being true. There are over 9 million players and over a million members. I'm sure you can show us where jagex confirms this. look all over blogs with metal drags its all in there am sure that if u logg out ur chances drop considriably well from 1/20,000 to 0 ...... logging out has no efect on drops ROW is a 20% better chance of a "rare" drop but it is hard to define what they call a rare drop (yes chain off dusties is in there but off kq???? 1/100 rare ????) i would say kill kq dk or do barrows if you would like to make cash off drops only kill dustys for xp / common drops as you will drive yourself mad trying to get a chain that way Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
