leoak
I haven't played in almost a year so I'm out of the loop on most things. I've got lvl 80 fletching and I'm looking to get to lvl 85. I was looking through the forums on RS to get prices for materials and I found people selling yew longs (u). I tried doing the math. The cost of yew logs is around 300-330gp and people are selling yew longs (u) for about 350gp. If someone buys them (which I haven't seen) then buys the bs and nats, the cost runs at about 850gp when they only alch for 768gp. Is there something I'm not getting? I can see turning a small profit making the yew longs (u) but I don't see a market for them since you'd lose money alching them, stung or unstrung. I'm trying to get exp for fletching, but I've got to make about 8.5k strung or 17k unstrung yews to get to lvl 85. I know magics bring in money, but I'm not looking to lose all my gp. Cogito Ergo Sum (I think, therefore I am)
chenw
Because the achievement capes came out, the cost of almost all raw materials started to rise, now such that fletching is no longer a profitable skill if you buy all your raw materials AND alch them yourself Nowadays fletchers sell the yew longs straight to alchers for 600-650ea for profit. 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. leoak
So if I just fletch the yews and string them, I'll be able to sell them to people who want to alch them? Cogito Ergo Sum (I think, therefore I am)
