J_Rod_The_Ti Posted March 29, 2005 Share Posted March 29, 2005 Well.. Maladrin and I have begun work on a sort of art community/graphics site. We decided to call it epochalypse (yes typo is on purpose). Anyways the point of the site would be really just to have fun with our art, and see where it can take us, and maybe train new and up and coming artists to be better. We plan to open the site at the start of summer (probably around May or so). I will be paying for hosting and Mal is currently working on a very kickass layout. Basically what we need is members.. people who can help out, be a part of the community. We sort of would like Epochalypse to become almost like a family. We will do community projects, host contests, and reevaluate what art really is. There's room for everyone, whether you're a photographer, digital painter, traditional artist, or abstract worker. We accept everyone, and every form of art, even body art. The point of it would just to get alot of talented people together and do something big... just have fun and get people recognized by other people around them. Well right now, I just wanna know if maybe we have some potential members in all of you? Or maybe if someone could make a donation of some sort? It would really be helpful. Plenty of people these days like to make up names that just "sound cool" but they really have no idea what they mean. An epoch is the starting of a new time, a new age marked by some distinguishing characteristic. Not necessarily the beginning of time itself... Kane Posted March 29, 2005 Share Posted March 29, 2005 my advise it dont bother. There are so many graphics sites out there that have quality members that they make your site obsolete. I made http://www.graphics-forum.com (not around anymore) and put ALOT of funding into it (vbulletin license, hosting, domain ect) it was good for a while but it never really got active enough because poeple prefer bigger sites where they can see better work and get better advise. I wouldnt count on poeple from tip it signing up because thats all they will do, sign up. ye u might get a few regulars but i wouldnt waste your time on it. Not necessarily the beginning of time itself... true, that people have a tendency to name things in that manner. In Unix epoch is the beginning on the time though and most importantly it's the timemachine in Chrono Trigger! :wink: Did I go off topic? no?
