Hulk12
Well I'm looking to purchase a new multi-media device at a resonable price. I currently have an Apple Ipod 40gb. It's pretty nice but not great. I've looked over an PSP, Iriver, etc... I'm looking for something that plays full length movies, music, pictures, maybe even internet able? What devices do you own and suggest? Peter
Sounds like you're looking for a laptop. I get by just fine with my cell phone and iPod.

I realy don't think they make something like that. I mean, they have some mp3 players that can play videos as well on a screen, and can show pictures, but can't go online. I think your out of luck. Travis
PSP is your best bet if you want all that stuff... It cant take picture but you can put pictures on it !!! PSP OWNS!!! graphics are about ps2 quality and the screen is just beautiful.... plus movies and music and it has a wifi internet thingy in it to begin with.... Prolly going to be so much stuff as add ons to it after a year or 2 that it will be able to do everything (like taking pictures, chatting with friends, surfing web) :D
____
Get a PDA or a Laptop. You can get PDA's with WiFi. I dunno about Laptops. You'd probably just be better off getting a Laptop :-? *shrug*
Hulk12
Rick... Rick... You know how troublesome a lap top is..... You've gotta have some place to carry it, you have to find some place to set it when you want to use it... (no chance in hell i'm setting it in my lap  )
Bubsa
You're asking for an uber gadget if you ask me. Not totally sure what you're asking for exists, and if it does, prepare for extravagent Japanese prices. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you. The iTouch has an internet feature. I was watching some kid play with it in my sales class the other day :-k Those iTouches are expensive little bastards if you have a decent sized music collection though. Hugger_88
I think the psp would be your best bet. It has the ability to buy disc-movies or download them, it can have music videos or just music, it CAN take pictures, but you must attach your camera to it, it can hold pictures, it has a downloadable (free) internet radio, you can play games, changable backgrounds, and the internet is great. the majority of my posts on this forum are from my PSP. PSP definatly. Graphics are effing amazing for handhelds too. - 60,023rd to 99 Firemaking on April 29th, 2012 -- 15,152nd to 99 agility on August 21st, 2011 -- 30,569th to 99 Prayer on June 26th, 2011 -- 22,646th to 99 Hunter on Jan 9th, 2011 -1993 Miata; sold - 2001 E46 330i; "totaled" - 2001 E46 325iT; Bags and wheels ;)
ClareJonsson
Well there are two devices set to hit the market soon: 1. The Pandora This is set to be the most awesome community driven hand-held console ever. It's literally being built by a non commercial company to the specs laid down by enthusiasts on a forum. They asked the members what would they like in a hand-held system and modelled it on the responses. And the guys designing it are part of that community. Simply awesome! 2. The Wiz From Game Park Holdings we have this device, it will hit the shelves in November and is quite interesting to say the least. Not only does it have PDA style apps built in, it boasts an OLED screen which will be perfectly visible in direct sunlight. The good thing about both of these systems is it's like being back in the days of the Amiga, being open source systems there will be a wealth of fantastic free software written by the community. and both are Linux based too. The Pandora even runs a Linux desktop environment if you so wish. Both will have Fenix runtimes so all them apps and games written in Fenix will run already! das1330
Easily an Ipod touch (or an Iphone if you can get the plan in order). They were both made for that kind of thing, and the web browser miles ahead of the PSP or any other device out there. The screen is great for movies, and music playback is like an Ipod..... that is the best there is. If you go for the iphone you can go on the internet anywhere in the country, rather then just in wifi zones as is the case with the ipod touch.
