Vista game compatibility issues

Featured Replies

My friend said that some games like Half Life 2 and Halo don't work on Vista, and therefore Vista sucks. Is that true? I mean, the game compatibility, not the usefulness/coolness of Vista.

Vista FTW.

Half life 2 works on vista, in fact I haven't seen anything really that hasn't (ran on my roomates PC, which has vista).

My mate has vista....and everything has worked for him since he got it(He plays pretty much every major game under the sun)

The only problem I've heard of is that if your playing on vista...games sometimes require a bit more ram to play(I'm thinking specifically of Hellgate: London)

Well it is true that vista takes more ram to run smoothly, but to be honest anyone with 2GB+ of ram should be just fine.

There are very few games that will have issues with Vista. They are either fixed by using compatibility mode or by a patch.

All new games should be built for Vista and have no problems.

All Steam games work under Vista, including Half Life2.

Yea, HL2 works, and I don't see why Halo wouldn't considering Microsofts affiliation with it. But I have heard of some older, especially not as big titles not working (and by older, I mean 5+ years old).
