Neo-noir

I've started getting back into movies lately and I've found that I quite like the neo-noir genre. There's something about the atmosphere and the antihero that I just really like. I recently watched Blade Runner and The Man Who Wasn't There, and Taxi Driver a few months ago. Does anyone have any other suggestions of contemporary noir films that are worth checking out?

L.A. Confidential (1997)

Memento (2000)

Mulholland Dr. (2001)

Sin City (2005)

And for a kind noir scifi feel try: Gattaca (1997) or eXistenZ (1999) both Jude Law films lol

Brick was cool. Blood Simple, Miller's Crossing & The Black Dahlia are worth checking out as well. I don't really know a lot of movies out of the genre, I'm more interested in the classic noir.

Blood Simple is one of the finest neo-noirs i have seen. Lets not forget Chinatown as well. Check out stuff like The Usual Suspects and Bonne and Clyde. I too however perfer the orginal genre.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
