Our_Moon
Right, so i get to any other website okay, with no more lag than normal. Then i come to RS, and the homepage loads okay. The "Existing User" and "Detail" Screens load fast enough, but when i click on a World link, i get stuck. The next page loads, but i get this white box and "Java" with a loading bar in it. When the bar is full, the "Java" and bar go away, and i'm stuck with a white screen, so i can't log in. The same happens with Forums and Polls. Any idea how to fix this? ~Thanks~
Assassin1357
try leaving it there and walk away. sometimes it happens to me, it just takes a few minutes to load
DingoAte
Have you got the latest Java? Also you should post this in the computers and tech forum for better help.
Kahote
Reloading the page fixes that bug for me. It also happens often when i ALT+TAB through windows. I come back to rs and the applet is all white... "You're pro or you are a noob.......that's life." - Athene
Our_Moon
~I got the newest version of Java last night. It still gives me the white box, though, even if i walk away for 15+ minutes. Thanks for trying, though.~
Cryptogram
There's more than one type of java I think - sun java and something else. You could try each type. Sorry I'm so vague. Lord Diddy
Normally when I get white screened I switch to another window and come back or minimize\maximize the browser. Just a question, when you click "existing user" and enter your Us and Pw are you able to log in? or is the trouble of white screening only when you try to change worlds? Our_Moon
~I don't even get to the white screen anymore. I just click the "World 59" link, the page stops responding, and Mozilla crashes. I've taken off all of the Java on my computer and replaced it all. Nothing helps.~ ~I get the same problem with Polls, Forums, and World links. I'm almost sure it's something wrong with Java or RuneScape because i can operate anything else perfectly.~
Celestrana
~Still nothing working. I'll look into the Sun stuff though, thanks.~ Here's the Sun Java link: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html You want the version called JRE, which is the Java Run-time Environment. Any other version is only useful if you want to develop your own Java apps. Click the link and just follow the instructions. One thing you may want to try is to select a different Java version when you're at the "Warrior & Skeleton" screen to choose your High Quality or Low Quality version of the game. You can select the Java version from a drop down menu at the bottom of the page. Also, try using the Low Quality game version so that your computer loads fewer resources to get the game started.
