I was wondering what's so great about Firefox compared to IE7 (besides the claims of better security). Is it really that great? Should I get it, and if yes, should I uninstall IE?

I want good reasons for yes or no, not anti-Mozilla or anti-Microsoft thingies.

Well most people like Firefox because of the better security and the it can be heavily customized. You can pretty much add anything you want to it if you can find an extension for it. You can also change the look with different themes. Some also argue that Firefox is faster than IE7, but I don't see a difference between any browser.

If you do decide to try Firefox, do not uninstall IE7, some pages may only be coded for Internet Explorer and will not display property in Firefox.

IE should not even be attempted to uninstall.

Whether you use Firefox or not , ALWAYS keep Internet Explorer up to date , its so heavily integrated into Windows that its a security update in itself.

Personally, I prefer Firefox, just because it looks better and the extentions are fun to play around with when you're bored.

There's nothing wrong with IE7, as such. I got Firefox when the old IE was about (Which didn't have tabbed browsing), and I didn't like that, hence me getting Firefox.

If you're running a fairly slow computer, Firefox will take longer to boot (open up) than IE7. But if you're computer's fairly decent, Firefox is a must have in my books.

New sig to come!

I'd go with Firefox. But don't try to uninstall IE 7...just trust me and don't do it.

You can download many extensions and stuff to make firefox even more secure anyways. There are extensions that block Banner Ads, ones that let you view whatever scripting the site is doing...

As for Firefox not being able to render some IE 7 sites, I give you some other guy's latest invention..the IE Tab!

Click it, and it renders how the page would look in IE 7. Enjoy

The Aston Marton is mislabeled. It should read "I spend most of my days in the garage and only get used on sunny, cloudless days." As such, the picture for opera should be changed to a Land Rover. At least one of those actually gets driven day-to-day.

If you were a web designer, you would create pages that appear correctly in all web browsers :-w
