Ever get a strange feeling when you're somewhere new?

Occasionally if I am in a completely different place than the usual type of environment I am in, or if I am somewhere I know I am not supposed to be, I will get some kind of strange feeling. I don't quite know how to put it in words, but is is kind of dizziness and my vision will blur in and out a few times. It usually happens when I am alone or with very few other people. It also feels like it has to be silent for it to happen.

The most recent time it happened was a few weeks ago. Me and my friend were at our campus and we had nothing to do for a while, so we went exploring and went into the woods in the back. It was a strange feeling for me knowing I am somewhere where 99% of the rest of the college has never been to or even knows exists. I knew I did not belong there and if caught by security or others would maybe get into a pickle or two.

I'm not sure if I'm making a lot of sense as it is weird to describe what happens and how it feels. Perhaps others here have experienced a similar feeling? Perhaps it is very common? Perhaps it is not, and I'm some kind of freak? Who knows :P

I get that strange feeling whenever I go on some sort of outing, but that's probably because I'm a paranoid social recluse. It's more of an adrenaline/butterflies in the stomach sort of thing. I went to Europe about a year ago and tried to get into that sort of feeling, but I couldn't do it.

I can definantly say I've had that feeling before...mostly when playing airsoft and stumbling upon a ridiculously good hiding spot  (yes I'm a big fat nerd)

The exact thing happened to me a few weeks back, we had a basketball match in Grangetown (A very rough area of Cardiff, in Wales), and I wandered to the nearest shop just to get some suppliments before the game and I'd never been there before, either.

It wasn't pleasant, very dark and seemed abandoned. I think I would put it as "The Detroit of Amerca". To be honest, I know I can look after myself if one or two boys my age/a little older than me came shouting the odds... But it's the weapons I'm more worried about. You can't trust society, nowadays; that's what makes my stomach go every now and again. It's usually when I think too hard about situations like that.

I understand though, it's very hard to explain.

New sig to come!

No, but lately whenever I feel apprehensive or nervous, I feel it in my left leg, near the thigh, instead of my stomach :?

The left side? Typical . . .

I don't get it when I go exploring or anything. Sometimes when I decide to be all spur-of-the-moment and not worry about bugs I feel great, all adrenaline-y, rather than this apprehensive feeling mentioned here. I generally only get that when I feel threatened, which is a lot, given I'm a scrawny girly man.
