November 20, 200718 yr hiya, I have decided to push for 99 slayer, having camped long enough at abbies and dark beasts. I always slay with black mask if I am meleeing, which is 95% of time. I know that adds 15% to attk and str on the assigned monsters. The question I have is: How beneficial is it to pot with super attk/str while wearing the mask? Obviously it would temporarily add an additonal 5%. But the stat drops quickly from 118, and I am wondering if I am just wasting pots for a very temporary gain in atk/str. besides stating the obvious, has any high level slayers done any testing analyzing of this? Just curious....thanks :) wish me luck RS name: lord krohn Combat 138slayer specific: 103 whips, 38 dark bows and 250+ dragon boots dropped to date.Dragon drops: 5 Half shields, 21 drag legs, 8 dragon skirts, and 9 drag meds dropped to date.
November 20, 200718 yr at these stats of mine i like boosting my stats but since i can't boost 100+ i don't know if it drops faster there VIX VIX VIX
November 20, 200718 yr i could undertand why people would say that it would drop faster after 100 on stats, but it just seems that way, its really the same rate :XD: But honestly, with your really sweet stats and black mask, you really wouldnt have to waste super sets  good luck on 99 slayer!
November 20, 200718 yr The main beef people have with potting is the cost assosiated with a super strength potion. Here is the best way to do it and lose no cash. Bring 2 super attack pots (these cost nothing) 1 regular strength potion 1 stat restore potion (normal cheap ones, not a super restore) and a dragon battle axe Total cost about 3k. make sure all pots are 4 dose. 1:)Start by taking a sip of the strength and the supper attack. 2:)When your attack stat is about 10+ the base number (should take a few min, arround 10) use the dragon battle axe specal, drink another sip of a super attack, and a sip of the stat restore. After this its the same as a super str and a super attack +20% +20% Wait untill your stats are all back to normal and start again at 1. This takes about 15-20 min. Its hard to picture from reading that but try it a few times, you will get the hang of it. Grow or pick up herbs between or on tasks and its no cost to you. You will never run out of potions before the slayer task is over.
November 20, 200718 yr when i used to do slayer (stopped to do non combats) i would always bring super pots. i found it sped up the killing. i never bought them because i could make them, so it didnt make much of a difference to me. however, before i could make super pots, i would always bring a d baxe and restore pots. use the spec and drink your restore pots. that will add a boost. also, using attack pots with that would make it even better without adding any cost. good luck on 99
November 21, 200718 yr as someone with a very limited RS time resources i try to be as effective as i can, this applies mostly to slayer since thats what i do most of the time. Yes, i always bring super pots, including super def pots (and food) to reduce guthaning time, and range pots when ranging. Since i make them myself, and since i hardly use them any place else ,add the fact that slayer monsters are endless seeds and herbs resource..so why not? I believe it speeds up the tasks besides stating the obvious, has any high level slayers done any testing analyzing of this? Just curious....thanks :) Actually its no big deal to test it.Simply do the same type of task (with the same setup)for example, 150 abbysells, once with pots and once without and compare the time diff. not 100% accurate but it will give a genereal idea. I believe you'll see a noticeable difference. GL with the 99 ,for both of us
November 21, 200718 yr I super set absolutely everything, including with mask on - it makes a big difference. Idk if i'm high level slayer relative to 99 but, i've done enough to know.
November 21, 200718 yr I suggest to you to do tests, get super set and try to kill some monsters without it then use super set and see diference, then you decide or it worth it or usage of super pots is so effective in exact situation or not... My own opinion is then it helps, but if you attack like 90+ and you kill monsters ~80lvl i think maybye is good then str boost not attack, or if attack then is enought regular attack pot not super attack pots.. Actually i never boost defence except when i go to morton dungeon to shades tombs to get treasures not fight i use then exalibur special to boost defence because then i not fighting just getting treasures from chests and 120 lvl shades then attack me and i then make autoretreat off and have no space for any food :) Suggestion: You can use Anchor on Waterfiends - is cheap if to compare to GS & effective with crush attack & it hit like Whip.Visit my exp track
November 21, 200718 yr Author hmm well I have an average of 450 or ea (super attk, str def pots) and back when i was training melee, I was always potting. Still not sure as it seems like a waste for a temp 5% gain....which is what?....one point higher damage...oh well, I guess I wil do a test soon, thanks all RS name: lord krohn Combat 138slayer specific: 103 whips, 38 dark bows and 250+ dragon boots dropped to date.Dragon drops: 5 Half shields, 21 drag legs, 8 dragon skirts, and 9 drag meds dropped to date.
