If you read my last post before, I'm gathering iron ore to 70 mining. I've Decided what to do with the ore, but I've come across another dilemma.

 

 

 

Rather than adding to that post and confusing everybody with 2 questions in one, I have decided to make this one.

I've gone with Choice...

 

A. Make all the iron into Iron Knives for maximum experience (Three smithing levels gained, 60 - 63)

 

I have gotten other suggestions rather than selling these 13,705 knives and I ask Tip.It for their opinion again...

Sub-Choice A. Sell the Iron Knives, about 480k, and buy bronze knives to train with.

 

 

 

Sub-Choice B. Use all of the iron knives to get 70 ranged and do Roving Elves.

 

 

 

Sub-Choice C. Sell enough iron knives to break even for Forging Ring costs, and use rest for ranged exp. (and do Roving Elves after :P )

 

 

 

Other Options, D.

Use iron to make darts. With 10 dart tips per ore over 5 w/ knives (plus feathers, for the darts) you would net twice as many ranged projectiles for the same relative cost.

For all choices, please tell me if I should range Blue Dragons or Ogres at King Lathas' Training Camp.

You know what.. I think I'll use my 1000th post here, simply because you've got a Calvin & Hobbes avatar and signiture.

 

 

 

I digress. I'm personally the skilling type, making just enough money for something to eat. I reckon you should be able to guess what I would choose just from that.. Sub-Choice B. Use all of the iron knives to get 70 ranged and do Roving Elves, if you couldn't guess.

 

 

 

If you've got the opportunity to hit a level as important in Ranging as 70, then I think you should just take it, instead of selling the knives and later worrying about trying to buy enough ammo to hit 70 Range.

Oh yeah, I missed the second part. I would always go with Blue Dragons as they are quite simply my favourite monster in the whole game. I've gone up numerous Prayer levels without having to buy a single Dragon Bone as the Dragons provided me with all I need.

 

Not only that, but with the amount of Blue Dragonhide I've collected I should go up a good few Crafting levels, and the sheer amount of money I've made from the Level 3 Clues they drop is ridiculous.

 

 

 

The one problem with Blue Dragons is; they're rubbish unless you can get yourself 70 Agility (something which I spent a week working on just to kill Blue Dragons more efficiantly, definatly worth being on Ape Atoll for that long).

You could also range ogres or w/e, and you will be able to make some of your cash back. I agree with above poster.

Blue Dragons may not be worth it at your level with knives. I'd say go with ogres.

That seems like a good idea. 2 thousand darts would kill me 1005 ogres for 70 ranged, and feathers are easily enough obtainable.

i say option b with ogres, as you will miss alot on blues.

i like option D but have you tought of mining coal and making cannon balls?

 

and for knives-vs darts...if they have the same accuracy and max hit i would for sure go with darts if i were you

I think Darts are weaker.

 

And I don't have a cannon and I'm not going to buy one, make cannonballs, and get 2ranged exp per hit instead. Sorry :P

oh lol my point about cannon balls wasnt for training range but for smith exp and while cannon balls are 200 ea all the iron you have (and all the coal needed #-o ) would make a nice amount of iron knoves or darts for you :D (btw i hate cannons as well...im in love with hp exp lol)
