December 5, 200718 yr Actually, jagex is smarter then that. If there is barely any supply (IE: every 1 is trying to buy it and people rarely sell it) then the price will go up. and the opposite for selling. Then why have some prices gone up despite not being able to sell at the lowest price? And why are others not being adjusted at all? As just one example... raw chompies have been 1k+ for ages. When the GE came out they were priced at 79 gp. Why? Because the 'item researcher' who came up with that price clearly doesn't even play the game. So everyone wanted to buy raw chompies at 83 gp (max price) and nobody wanted to sell. Price should go up, right? Eight days later, raw chompies are STILL 79 gp. December 5, 200718 yr Yeah, the worst one I think is yew longbows. They've been sitting at 704 gp ea minimum since the GE was released. That's BS, how couldn't Jagex have known that people were selling for ~610 ea before? Funny. Does that mean i'll have to sell the 25k yew longs i'm making on teh fourms?

I've actually sold some yew longs at 704 gp each (minimum price), and yet the price hasn't changed in many days. I'm afraid that it looks like items have a fixed price range they can't go outside, or the GE price updating algorithms are very badly designed. I can live with the 5% caps per day, but this is much much worse.

They don't even seem to be on the forums any more. BTW, even if the 5% adjustment worked, it would take two full months for chompy prices to get where they should be. Same applies to dozens, if not hundreds of other items. December 5, 200718 yr I'm experiencing the same problem with certain items... I have no idea what to do about it. Emerald Amulet (for farming), and arrows seem to have the same price for the last few days and despite mine being set at the lowest prices... still haven't sold. I guess that because the price is basically identical to what it was a few days ago means that no one is buying at all :(
December 5, 200718 yr I think alot of the problems could be handled by not allowing items to be bought or sold while offline. The entire game is based on actually playing the game. A few things such as farming and buying certain items have an offline component but that's more out of necessity than a change in game playing style. If they made it so items in the GE would be taken down when you logout, or limited you to only 2 slots that stayed up for sale, I think you'd see the logjams clear out faster and an easier time of moving items.
December 6, 200718 yr Jagex has probably set max and min prices to stop items from completely losing their value.
