1680x1050 Abstract wallpaper WIP -- Need some help!

Sup guys. Recently I've been working on a new abstract wallpaper, mostly just to challange myself. I know I've been doing a ton of small signatures, but the fact is those are fairly easy composition wise. Likewise working with them is much easier.

However I haven't really given a wallpaper a shot in ages. It's been fairly difficult so far, mostly just because you have to build it up a lot more.

Anyways I'm looking for any kind of comments that can help. Right now my main goal is to probably make it not look at contrasted and such, but also maybe build up on it a bit more. I might change the color scheme too -- but blue has been getting boring :D.

So looking for any tips. And, yes, if you want feel free to use it as a wallpaper -- even if it isn't finished yet.

VERSION 2

EDIT: Uploaded Version 2. Decided to do a blue-ish color scheme, red didn't work. What you think?

the C4d is offset, it should be in the middle, spread out evenly, UNLESS the edges show up, then its a good spot..

as for help, i think it needs more of a background, not something crazy as it is a desk top background, i needs something simple, yet looks good.

you need to add something els also, just a c4d on a background looks to, bleh,

in about the middle, there is, a, a white bar? right by the lighting source, i think that needs to go. and, i dont know if i like the blur effect..

but yeah, once this is done, its lookin like ima use it!

i sure hope you're going to blend that c4d XD

A little trick

Copy the c4d layer and give one layer a Gaussian blur of about 1 to 1.5

click on the blending modes and sift through each one. I don't know which one it is, but it helps it looks better.

I think you meen Overlay, and you can also change the Opacy a bit.

(Thats one of the things I do, when manipulating something.)

EDIT:

Im using it as wallpaper right now, it looks very good. I also wonder what

it would look like if you centered the C4D, but this is a great wallpaper.

*cough*DA*cough*

Btw, there is much more than just one 3D render in it. :P

Still working on the brushing, trying to get it to look natural. Also I want to leave some space on the left for icons.

I'll work on it a bit more later.

Natural, lol.

Anyway, I think it looks fine being off center. Also, colors are sexy.

Corrected.

Jesus, where did you come from Dem? :P

And I'm playing mario kart atm now :D No time.
