December 14, 200718 yr This may be in the wrong forum, so forgive me if it is but: Is there any way to play RS in a bigger resolution without changing my desktop's appearance settings? I really hate having to squint to read anything, but don't want to have to change my resolution every time I want to play RS. Anyone have any info on this? I play on windows vista, on 1280x1024 Resolution if it matters. December 14, 200718 yr Author Yeah, actually I forgot to mention that I'm using FireFox. Is there anyway to change the display settings of RS that I don't know about? :U Do you think, Perhaps, that the Black Dragon lives in the Black Dragon Cave!?I'm a firm believer of typing with proper grammar on the interwebs. December 14, 200718 yr I don't know of a way to do that other than using my laptops zoom option. But the quality is horifically bad so I wouldn't recomend it.
December 14, 200718 yr Author Hrmm, maybe i'll try Swiftswitch. Thanks. :) Do you think, Perhaps, that the Black Dragon lives in the Black Dragon Cave!?I'm a firm believer of typing with proper grammar on the interwebs. Oh yes.
December 14, 200718 yr I've alwys played RS on 800x600 as you say it's annoying 'cos that's the only time I use that low a resolution, but it only takes about 2 seconds to change resolution, not that big a problem. It's the only way I can get it to fill the whole screen lowering it to the lowest resolution my monitor allows. Co-Founder of KoA over 18's clan. Founded 2002. December 14, 200718 yr I always play on 800x600 resolution (I'm always on 800x600) Why do you want the game to be smaller?
December 14, 200718 yr Author I always play on 800x600 resolution (I'm always on 800x600) Why do you want the game to be smaller?I don't want the game to be smaller, I want my resolution to be set to Windows Vista's default, because it's the one that's most comfortable for me to look at. I don't want to set it to 800x600 because it makes everything look blurry and large. December 14, 200718 yr Your resolution has nothing to do with Vista but a combination of your video card and your monitor. I'm on Vista however my maximum resolution is only 1024x768 cause I have a rubbish Monitor :( The only one to make Runescape "bigger" is to put it in 800x600 like people have already stated.
December 14, 200718 yr you cannot make the acctual game window larger because that would give you a "unfair advantage" if the res of the jagex window was larger, i'd play on my monitors full 1680x1050 res, instead of the smaller 1440x900 -.- i wish there was a fix for this from jagex, but i doubt it, because i think there is a maximum output resolution of the java window. so, unless they program their game engine in some other language, we're SoL. retired 12-31-09
December 14, 200718 yr The game will always display in 800 x 600 resolution. You can only change your own settings to make that 800 x 600 window either fill the screen or take up some fraction of your screen real estate. December 14, 200718 yr I use to make my window bigger when lying on my bed. The screen was further way so needed to be bigger =p If you lower your screen's resolution the runescape window will take up more of your screen.
