Jagex knows what their doing!

Featured Replies

Totally true. Jagex have made a fantastic work :) We should all be happy that they have got rid off the most of the RWTs.

you can't really criticize something you aren't trying to help. of course people would be mad, but do you see most of them trying to fix it? NO! you see them whining wanting everything back the way RuneScape was. well guess what, that is a SMALL minority of know-nothing players. they don't care about autoers, then they don't care about RuneScape and should not be taken seriously. the people jagex should listen to are those who actually seem to care about the game in the first place. not the common gamer that's here today and on another mmo tomarrow, but the diehard fans.

basically, put up or shut up.

Don't act like you know much about this. You blindly follow JaGEx, believing every move of theirs is the greatest. Honestly, these updates are completely idiotic. In my opinion, they're just trying to cut their losses and prepare for whatever new games they're putting out. Ever heard of RuneScape Classic?

You're completely entitled to your own opinion over this, of course. That's just mine.

And I don't want attempt to change it. The way I see it, I'd have to destroy the other games. Hacking into JaGEx's database and corrupting every file of every game of theirs excluding RuneScape would not be an easy task. :P

i don't blindly follow jagex. i look into their updates and chat with other fellow players. that is called learning. <.< why would jagex risk losing over like 2 million players? and from what ive seen in world hopping, p2p worlds usually have more people than f2p. why would people sign up and keep playing a game they hated? yes, i have heard of runescape classic. i much preffered it to runescape 2 on my old computer, that is, untill i got a new lap top that is. the lag from rs2 was just too much for my 13 year old desk top. and so far jagex only appear to have a few arcade games. i don't really see mechscape becoming better than runescape anytime soon.. they may start persuading people to play mechscape when it gets a reasonable number of updates. but whatever... -.- i preffer fantasy over sci-fi... :P

i believe jagex knows what they are doing. all of these updates are easily adaptable to regular players. we actually have a stable, un-manipulative fair, economy. pures can't pk anymore, well, you should have thought about that before you made a NON-JAGEX SUPPORTED build. bots are gone, demand is high, REAL players are making money now.

even this will come to pass....

Great way to put it...

First off, I don't know what you mean by "stable" economy since it was essentially stable to begin with. If anything, the f2p economy was destabilized by the Grand Exchange and the problem was compounded by Bounty Hunters. Second, your argument against pures is simply laughable. If Jagex "doesn't support pures," then why did that option remain open until these recent updates?

And your remark about what players are "REAL" or not is simply abrasive. A pure who played the game to PK and have fun doing it was as much a "REAL" player as some bump on a log who crafts essence all day.

me saying "real players" had nothing to do with pures. i meant ALL players. that part of my speech was how the updates had a positive affect on the player community.

and yes jagex don't support pures in the sense that they would give pures updates just because they are pures. and the only reason they left the option open is simple. they didn't say you couldn't, they just said don't expect to get more when you limit your skills.

i believe we've had another misunderstanding. -.-

I saw that edit, but I'm not going to nitpick.

It's one thing not to offer a certain class of your players more options when it is not the primary style of playing the game, but it's another to destroy them when they are an already well-established community in your game. That seems pretty awful to me.

yeah, but maybe in the future there will be updates that bring back pures.

but still, the updates were designed to not affect "normal" players. :-w

!!!EDIT!!! - at least not to the extend that would completely ruin their files...

Pures are basically a way to take advantage of certain conditions in the game. Jagex allowed this, but didn't support it, and made no promises. When something affects them, they just have to deal with it.
