anarchyxarmy
My friend is in the hospital on suicide watch and I don't know what to do, I'm not to comfortable giving out to much information but yeah, I need some help what should I do? (and no, this isn't just a metaphor for myself...) I'm a thinker but am often short of words sorry if my posts are shorter than expected...OMG I cant wait for the cleaning skill! rushrock
If he's in the hospital, then problem solved. They'll hospitalize him until he's stable, and then they'll hopefully send him to a help class or something.
anarchyxarmy
The problem is that my friend has already been to the hospital for suicide watch and my friends life seems pretty fine but maybe there is more to it than my friend is letting on? So I'm worried that the "treatment" wont work and something might happen. I feel that the tip.it community is the only real "person" I can trust.(despite my join date, I have had other accounts on tif.) rushrock
^ What routinely happens after his visits to the hospital? Is he put in a help class, given meds, etc.?

rushrock
^ Is he still taking it? I would suggest, well, first off, which this is a given, a nice long talk with your friend to try and sort everything. Nice and long. Second, if things are really horrible and dire, talk with the parents or someone in charge and make sure he's getting treated. Treated doesn't mean depression pills either. A lot of times those don't do a thing.
knives669
Is your friend a close friend? If so, then, perhaps when he gets out, you could talk to him about how he feels. It sounds like he could really use a close friend. As for right now, he's in the best place possible. I know it's hard not to worry, but he's in good hands and will be taken care of. Rebdragon
This is the reason you joined a gaming forum for twelve year olds :| ? There are better places to ask advice about this kind of stuff dude. No offense to any Tip.iters of course, but coming to a gaming forum for advice about a suicidal friend is generally not the place to go- you'll get little more than pats on the back and generic advice, like phone numbers, that you could easily ask your parents for. ... Re-read thread, but point still stands, 'cause I have no idea why in hell you'd be making a new account for something like this. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series. rushrock
^ (despite my join date, I have had other accounts on tif.) This isn't why he joined, but I do wonder why he made a new account. Probably for some other reason or whatever. Tip.It can give some good advice; from those with first-hand experience, or the occasional psychology major, or just someone who's good at that kind of stuff. It's not really a waste to post this here, but just know that not all of the advice you'll receive will be stellar. But, really, most of it will be pretty good! Not an expert's opinion, but oh well. :)
anarchyxarmy
^I didn't make a new account for this, I just made an account because I had been planing to for awhile, its something I have where I feel a need for starting over constantly, and I finally felt a need for telling someone. BlueLancer
You friend is an attention [bleep]. If he wanted to really kill himself, he'd have done so by now. According to medical research and reasons of suicide, that's not sound advice. While a lot of people who threaten suicide often fail, it's very often the last cry for help from a person who is very likely to take his/her own life in the near future. Ignoring a suicidal friend and calling him/her an attention b.... will just make the situation worse.

How do you know is friend, if they didnt know if he was really suicidal or not you have no right to judge. This is a temporary account. Ash6110 is my real one. All I said is he is suicidal for attention, because people who are really suicidal tend you.. kill themselves the first try. megakiller32
Although i have sympathy for your situation, i would like to state: Why is there always some suicide topic or teenage angst cry for help from someone on the off-topic? :-k I can understand why people come to internet forums for help, for example its annonoymous and there are some useful people on them (Excluding jerks like Grim_Jokes) but there is always one somewhere... Anyway, back to the main point, if hes getting help from the hospital, the only thing you can do is offer support and help whenever he needs it. Try and keep him active, physically and mentally, that shouldn't make him depressed, therefore not thinking about suicide. I wonder if anyone could shed some light on why suicide rates in the world in teenagers has shot up over the last 10 years? :uhh: Quit Runescape 30th May 2006.Thanks to Hawkxs for my signature :)
