ColtThunder
As some of you may have noticed, we now have 620 playes with 99 hits. that's an outrage. it's not even rare to see a 99 hper anymore and there's tons of them that i've never heard of and i've been around rs for several years. If Range didn't effect Hits, then many of them would not have such high lvls so should range train into your hitspoints xp too? Pretty soon, there's going to be over 1,000 people with 99 hits then the game will not be fun. clan wars will takes forever since every1 fighting in the largest clans will be 99 hp. cardsfan
hey neeb buddy... neways, off to flame ur stoopid thread  just like any other class, there are pure rangers, just as in melee, and mage. post ppl will agree with me that if rangers cant gain experience, they will have to dabble in another class. why make a pking triangle have three ends if rangers have to be part of another? even if they are overpowering, they are still a class that needs a way to gain hp, so have fun with yer stoopid idea neeb buddy ol pal  R.I.P. lunchbox456
Cardsfan, Your post made my IQ drop 4 points. I think it's because in RS2 it's simply to easy to train now. Plus, if range didin't effect HP, the point of making a pure ranger would be defeated.
audee
Don't forget "Long range" range training boost def level as well.... imagine a pure ranger 99 range and 99 def.. but 13 hp.. a joke isn't it?
S0S
hi, there would be no mages on f2p either. 4 extra hit points dont really matter anyway.. FYI: you dont know how long it takes to click train to 99 range? i do.

S0S
No mages? :? why? well, the mages i have made on rsc had 10hp. mage and range didnt give hit xp on rsc soooo.. mage and range on rs2 does gives hit xp. if youre using combat spells like fire strikes and what not.. i guess you could go around casting curses on everything if you didnt wanna gain hp. or do some mages train def? i dont even know :P
Steidnar
It's the only way jagex can make the triangle work. If range didn't give hp exp, then it would be far too unbalanced, as well as just a pain in the [wagon] to be a ranger. If you wanna take that away, then you aught to give some suggestions on how rangers would get they're hp xp. *edit - it's bbcode, not html. whoops :P*
audee
well, the mages i have made on rsc had 10hp. mage and range didnt give hit xp on rsc soooo.. mage and range on rs2 does gives hit xp. if youre using combat spells like fire strikes and what not.. i guess you could go around casting curses on everything if you didnt wanna gain hp. or do some mages train def? i dont even know :P Oh I see... i started playing rs2 without playing rsc.. pardon me on that.. oh yeah.. i wonder if mages can train def just by solely throw magic spells around.. @ least range can train def via LongRange option.. wallyweams
Just to throw in a different perspective on class balance... Other MMORPGs (EQ, WOW, etc) require teamwork among the 3 classes instead of competition/PKing between the classes. So a Ranger or Mage could have very high Range or Magic ability and low hitpoints because they never are expected to engage the monster 1 on 1. They let the "tank" melee the monster while they shoot/nuke from afar. Course, if the tank ever dies... then the Ranger and Mage die quickly as well. Since Runescape is not built on class team cooperation, but rather on class competition in PKing (and endless skill grinding), the Rangers and Mages need hit points to survive. fakeeoghan
they could make it so that you only get hp xp when you are training using the combat style that your combat lvl is based on. I think its ok that so many people have 99 hp though as there are always new weapons that are coming out that can take hp down faster to balance that. badrobinhood
I personally dont care how long a clan war takes, because pking is really what the game centers around. If range didnt give hits xp, then people who play for reasons other than pking might be in trouble.
wallyweams
... because pking is really what the game centers around... According to the poll that Jagex conducted on 01 March 2005, 63.1% of those players that had a preference for PvP vs PvM preferred player vs monster. 13% preferred PvP (3055) 13% preferred PvP with some PvM (3126) 25% had no preference (5891) 26% preferred PvM with some PvP (5932) 20% preferred PvM (4676) So, that's 10608 out of the 16789 that had a preference. Interesting poll...
