Mage Logs vs. Yew Logs

I know everyone says that Mage's are the way to go for money, but even at 85 wc i wonder if they really are. I know that if you are fletching your own bows they win but i wonder if for just selling yews arent better. I mean yews are up to like 410 ea. So post any thoughts

Mages never win over Yews for money.

 

 

 

Even at level 99 Woodcut with a Dragon Axe, you will get Yews at a faster rate for faster gp/hour.

 

 

 

People seem to like to cut Mages because they're 1.2k each, but don't realize that Yews are faster.

I think you cut yews faster which makes them better money, but at very high lvl(95+) i would recommed mages are then you actully make faster money

As far as I know the rate at which you can collect magic logs stays the same regardless of your level.

 

 

 

So how do they suddently become better at 95 :/

Ok you only increase ur mage logs speed once which is at 85(why that was in there) and thats what i wonder. I'm only 78 and when i get to 85 i think ill try it. Anyone else?

I cut Mages from 75-90, and even if there was a slight increase of speed, it's not worth cutting them over Yews.

Don't waste your time with mage logs. They really are not all they are cracked up to be.

 

 

 

Stick with yews. If you wish to break from yews and give mages a try then go for it but I wouldn't suggest staying to long as you would make more money with yews regardless. Trust me (im 94 wcin :-# :wink: )

well i have been trying to decide if i want to go for 99 wc or get a godsword. I will be close to one if i go for 99 with yews but with like 94 with mages. So i need to figure that out.

Get 99 with yews then keep cutting... you'll get the money faster than you would with mage logs, and a higher woodcut level.

According to the above information, you would be able to get 99 woodcutting AND enough for a godsword before you got 94 with mages, if yews really are faster cash

good point good point. Hopefully in the next 2 months i will be able to get 99wc as well as enough money for that godsword. too bad itll have to be the stupid saradomin hilt.
