I decided to make a post with all my sigs on it to share my work with yall.

Anyways here are my sigs the newer ones(better ones) are on top. The early ones are from just trail and error tryin to figure out how to get different effects.

 

The Higher they are the newer it is. All those in the New Sigs fold are one I have made since i started this thead and those in the Old Sigs were made before.

The text is incredibly large in every signature. And the text doesnt blend in, your next goal should be to work on the text. (And also, the placement.)

 

 

 

The renders also dont blend in, thats because you dont use brushes enough. Im not saying you need brushes to blend, but using brushes to blend is a good start. I recommend DA for good brushes.

 

 

 

If you want to improve, you have to read lots and lots of tutorials. Pixel2Life is a website I used alot, its stuffed with good tutorials. Talking about good tutorials, I believe Good-Tutorials is a good one too. And again, DA is also very good for tutorials.

woop what do you mean about brushes? Are they anything like the smudge tool? (I just downloaded GIMP last night, woot woot)

Thanks for the tips. I didn't even know you could get new brushes so I'll check those out. And I've just been googleing for tutorials but the ones i've found haven't been that great so thanks for the links.

 

 

 

I was trying to blend with the blur and smudge brushes like on the one with the wolf but i wasn't haveing much luck. Hopefully once i get my mouse for my laptop this christmas :P I'll be able to o a little better since i keep screwing up with my touchpad.

 

 

 

Also u mentioned the text placement where would it be better to place it?

Well I've taken some of the advice put here and have created a new sig. Theres something odd about it but i figured since i made it i might as well post it and get some feedback.

The colors in the latest one are god awful, try and read up on color theory please. They just don't work well together at all.

 

 

 

 

 

Also the fractual brushes or whatever you decided to use are pretty meh.

thanks for the link to the color chart I'll bookmark that to make sure i don't make the same mistake and i'll look for some new brushes i pretty much used the first ones i found.

Your best so far, but it still needs alot work.

 

The font is overused, by many people. I have it too, I cant remember the name but its time to try a new one.

 

The colors dont really suit the render, gray+skin color - purple dont work out.

 

 

 

Take a look at this render. The first colors that should pop into your mind are Red, Blue and white. Use these colors with that render and you would have a nice start.

 

Render 2 < Colors you should use? Green and pink.

 

 

 

The border could use work too, for the best result you should try a simple 1px black stroke around the signature.

I've been trying to work on blending most tutorials involve multiple layers of the render with bluring on the background. u got any suggestions?

Well i made the sig with the hulk render. This time I attempted to do some more blending using the scattered maple leaf brush. Im posting both the blended one and the unblended one. Anyways here they are

Heres another something I made for Unlocked. He requested a sig with dark-orange background/yellow-brown text saying 'Unlocked"/and if using a render make it dark. So I whipped this up. The trees hide 99% of the blending but its in there. I used the same text as in the Santa sig because it went well with the the look of the trees. The Render has green on the helm but its not much so i left it instead of trying to change it while keeping the same lighting on the helm. Anyways this is what I came up with.

Good use of colors, you have done something with my advice :) I see you have added a border, but not when you finished your signature .(Somewhere in the middle of the process, am I right?)

 

Try to smudge the edges of the render a bit, so it blends even better (But, keep in mind that the viewer cant see that you have been smudging)

 

 

 

The Hulk one is your best so far, In my opinion. But I also like the 3rd one because of the colors.

 

 

 

2nd, Santa:

 

Too much white, could use more pink.

 

The text could be white, acid green doesnt really suit the feel of christmas.

 

And again, the border :wink:

 

 

 

3rd, Hellgate London:

I actually add all the borders last when i start out on the sig i set the height to 148 and an the end i expand it to 150 then add a layer on the bottom.

 

 

 

I actually added a 1px orange border to it that looked nice when you're zoomed in a little but when i posted it at actual size it blended in to much I'll probably go back and change it remove his name add in mine and use it later

 

 

 

I also got my Mouse of my laptop its the Logitech MX Revolution

 

 

I think im in love no more touchpad screw ups :thumbsup:

Here my new sig I tried out a new size its 400x120 instead of 400x150. I like the size cause it gives it a more panoramic view. Instead of just putting the text into a separate layer then adding another layer on top of that This time I added it into the blended layer and smudged some blending onto the text. I also worked on the blending more I smudged the render then smudged the blue back over some of the smudged render. I think it looks a lot better than my other sigs and its much cleaner looking. Let me know wat you think. I also increased the size of the border from 1px to 2px's
