My dad is stuck in the Dark Ages. I finally save up $150, so I can buy a used PS2 and GHIII, and he's like "do you need to plug that into a tv? well, you aren't using mine. ps2s wreck the tv....". EVERY FREAKING TIME I SAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO GET A GAME FOR THE TV HE SAYS THAT

How can I prove to him that it doesn't so I can play it on the 37-inch tv he's getting? I told him to ask the guy from Time Warner when he fixes our cable (and probably upgrades us), but my dad will probably forget.

I dont have proof, but I have heard this many times, so I would assume it to be true. It depends what you do. If you leave a still image on the plasma tv long enough it burns the image onto there, so the screen will retain traces of that image later.

I'd look into it first. Plasma and projection TVs CAN have problems..if you've got a SDTV, then you'll be fine.

^^Meh, I don't really want a tiny TV... lol

I know it can mess it up if it's there on that same screen for a while, but after I'm done using it, I'd shut it off, so idk I guess...

Bloodredsword- I probably will, I might not have the chance to, since I don't know when the guy's coming over.

Yep, on my computer screen in the top right hand corner theres the outline of the _ [] X (minimize, maximise, close) bar, even on a blank screen.

It is about 5 years old though.

I still play games on our projection tv, but it can burn in if you leave a still image on the screen long enough(tv logos, black bars on the side of a widescreen when you're watching a standard channel, health meters on video games etc.)

While playing ps2/360 has never hurt my tv, you can see the mtv hits logo(I used to watch all the time) on the corner of our tv when the screen in white.
