"Illum Tagendo" is the phrase - unfortunatly I have no idea of the language, it's the name of a song by Nine Inch Nail and Stella Soleil.

Thanks!

And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all.

I tried the google, but as you said, it is the name of the song and it's hard to distinguish hits from translations. I'll take it as a warm place for now, unless anyone else has a different trandlation :)

It's Latin. Illum does mean place, tagendo seems to be a gerund but I can't tell from which verb.

Yes, I originally thought tango, but touching place doesn't make sense, i would assume modern latin or a very unusual word for warm. thanks!

Tagendo? Sure it wasn't a mistake/typo where you found it? Don't think there are any Latin verbs with a tag- prefix in existence.

I've seen plenty of songs that use Latin phrasing that are completely and utterly incorrect in terms of vocabulary and grammar. This might not be an exception to that.

I also doubt 'Tagendo' is a real latin word, might be a mis-spelling.

Tacendo would be a gerund from the verb tacere, meaning "silence" or "quietness".

Illum Tacendo would mean approximately "place of silence".

Illum Tacendo would mean approximately "warm silence".

Wait, where does the "warm" come from there? All I'm reading from that is "place of silence" :-s .

Maybe I'm just losing my touch with the language after over half a year of not taking it >_<.

(Note: You're right, got confused with the above posts. The warm doesn't come there at all -bluelancer)

The song is here - and the lyrics (this song was originally an instrumental) have appeared to have changed from my original source - an extra "n" has surfaced, it's now "illum tangendo"

Still no clue as to what it means, I was kicked out of my GCSE Latin class #-o

Oh, tangendo.

It means "touching him".
