Favorite Video Game Ending?

Hmm... favorite endings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Half Life (1)

 

[hide]The ending where you are on the train with the g-man, it was so mysterious because this guy has been following you the entire time through the game. I still remember the first time he offered me it I just jumped. :lol: [/hide]

 

 

 

 

 

Half life 2: EP2 (and HL2 + EP1)

 

[hide]EP2 is probably my favorite ending so far in the half life series. While EP1 and HL2 were great and all, EP2 was amazing. The little hint you got near the end from the gman and the fact that, for the first time in the game series, someone very close to you dies right in front of your face brutally.

 

 

 

Never before have I seen an ending hit so many people emotionally. When a game series goes on so long (a good 10 years nearly now!) and a character you have known for a majority of that time dies it hits you, hard.

 

 

 

 

 

It's not to say that HL2 and EP1's endings wern't bad. The ending of HL2 was interesting because it showed a bit more of the gman, and how he could help out alex and was willing too. Also, the ending of EP1 with you riding away from the city -- it on fire, was awesome. [/hide]

 

 

 

 

 

Portal

 

[hide]The ending credits, the last boss fight... it was a masterpiece. Honestly it needs no more explanation.[/hide]

[hide]It was a great game, but the ending (for the dark side) was just awesome. Seeing all of the ships just flying off in the end (and knowing there are millions of them) was just so incredibly epic[/hide]

 

 

 

 

 

Can't think of anything else currently where the ending really hit me. I didn't really like the ending of Bioshock, thought it was kind of silly.

After killing the final boss who killed your whole family you start climbing up a collapsing cavern and after you reach the top you meet up with a fellow indian that was a brother when you were a baby and talk about being revenged.[/hide]

I kinda liked the KH1 ending and ff10 ending wasn't too bad. Also the ending to ff5 (that games classic).

Metal gear solid 2. Never had a storyline that made me crave for more.

 

 

 

Final Fantasy 9, a game that wasn't nearly as good as it's brethren but i love happy endings :XD:

Now that I think about it Portal is the best original ending I've seen.

 

Others worth noting are;

 

MSG3.

 

MSG2, the **** they talk in at/near the end confuses the hell out of you.

 

Half Life 2

 

There more, but I generally remember the gameplay and not the ending so much.

 

PS. I never classed the GTA series as a having endings as you always have more to do/get.
