January 16, 200818 yr not wanting to be unhelpful, but is it because they are rare? :-k Woodcutting does not raise your combat level because most people do not play as yew trees.
January 17, 200818 yr They came out a good amount of years ago and you cant get them from anywere else than other players-rare+low supply=Expensive, aru (i personaly dont know why someone would spend so much on one tho...to each his own i suppose...) You dare question my eccentricities?~The arus are back~
January 17, 200818 yr Like stated above... The source of party hats has nearly died out (party crackers) so nobody obviously wants to open those which are worth even more than the hat itself. That, and a lot of old players who held most party hats have quit the game... There are probably only a few thousand left in the game. The amount of crackers is definitely lower, probably in the 100-200 range held by active players. Or half-full wine jugs which are an item from 2001, 7 years ago.
January 17, 200818 yr There is a limited supply, and you can't get them anywhere else. The demand for them has grew so much that the price has risen too.

Why people would want them? A status symbol really. Shows wealth, and sometimes dedication. I like the look of them as well. I'd like to have one but its not my life goal or anything. They are priced really high for the given reasons. Owning one doesn't mean your any better than the guy next to you, but to some, many rather it does mean that.
