Steel Plates or Mithril Bolts( Semi-Urgent)

Featured Replies

Is it more cost effect to make steel plates at the blast furnace and then laching them or making mith bolts at blast furnace then selling?

Im looking for which one as the lowest gp/xp ratio (more exp for the less amount of money)

My smithing level just so happens to be 64... need 69 for the new quest

I just really really want my Quest Cape back :(

Steel plates at the blast furnace is somewhat of an oxymoron... Steel/Mith plates are the most costly method of raising smithing, and slowing it down with Blast furnace is pretty pointless.

If you go to the Blast Furnace and make Mithril Plates, then you do make a small bit of money, but since you can't do that, I would suggest sticking with steel plates until around upper 50s, then switch over to the best mithril item till mithril plates.

Well first off its not slow at blast furnace if you log on to the World 58 Blast Furnace World. There are people operating all the different machines so its basically like a regular furnace except you can get up up 26 bars per trip when using the anvils there. Also i cant make mith plates.... probably should have mentioned my smithing lvl....

Why would you spend time making the bars to SAVE money and then blow them all off.

I dont really under stand what you said just there... Are you saying that I should just buy the bars?

Also this doesnt really help me decide which option to go with, or give me a better option then the two I mentioned

Mith bolts would be my vote, they sell unfinished on the GE eventually to fletchers and you may just about break even. If you use the Blast Furnace then it will probably be profit.

It will cost around 1.3m to go from 64-69, buying mith bars and smithing unfinished bolts. That's what I am in the middle of doing at the moment.

Ok thanks Cat!

Are you sure they sell unfinished though?

Yes they sell unfinished, but you will make a loss.

to those of you who dont think the blast furnace is good xp, i got 40k xp/hr making a profit with mith plates, i suggest making mith bolts because you make a profit, as opposed to steel plates

Yeah if you buy the bars, if you use the Blast Furnace I think its profit.

Sell them without feathers. Fletchers use them.
