This is now the one in SOTW #8.

 

 

 

 

This is my 3rd sig. It is for SOTW #8. It seems big but is 400x188. I couldn't find a good font.

Well done for a first sig :)

 

 

 

You have the lookings of a good sig maker but you need to learn some new techniques. Use brushwork and smudge work to blend your renders and see how that goes for you. have a look on www.deviantart.com and search, blending tut or something. Broaden your knowledge and see what works best for you.

 

 

 

Try distorting more for your background to make it look more like a bg

Well as Chaz says, you need to work on your brush work and smudging to make the render "blend" with the background, also the colours aren't really matching the render, the font doesn't match and is hard too read and black is bad a colour for that signature in my opinion. I suggest just as Chaz, read tutorials as you'll learn the tools a lot faster.

The background is clouds. The effect is that the looker is waking up. As for the text it is suppose to be old looking. As for the readability I can.

Basically said, the colour scheme isn't working, the font is not that great and the whole thing needs to be touched up and blended.

 

 

 

Have a look at deviantart.com they have some kick-[wagon](am i allowed to say that :roll: ) tutorials.

Speaking as someone who is new to signature making as well, I'd say it was a fairly decent attempt at a first signature. :D

 

 

 

That said, there are a few issues which you should focus on improving in the future.

 

 

 

Firstly I dislike the way the render looks as if it has just been copied and pasted (the black line around the render doesn't help), I'd suggest you get renders pre-cut and transparent so you dont have this issue. I was recommended http://www.planetrenders.net and none of the renders I've found there have the black lines that yours does. Also try increasing blending around the edges so there's a smooth transition from the render to the background.

 

For the background I'd suggest you use lots of layers and try and increase the texture of the background so the render blends in a little.

 

As to the font I don't think it really fits this style of signature and suggest you look harder for a font that fits with the signature (its harder than it sounds as I've discovered).

 

 

 

Just do as everyone else suggests and do lots of tutorials and you'll do fine. I look forward to seeing your future works :)

I made all of the black background transparent, thus it isn't black, which leads us to it is suppose to be there.

As for the sig, I don't like it. I'll just repeat what the previous posters said, you need to improve on blending, colour scheme choice, background and text. Also, it could use a border, and the duplicates of the render are really annoying. And, the clouds in th background look like they were half pixeled, half smudged. Did you make the pixel part yourself?

Well the image is ruined as you didn't resize it properly (on the third one), boring/simple effects, the lines aren't that good specially with that colour, text is placed on a bad way. I highly suggest tutorials on deviantart.com

 

 

 

The second one is decent, it's no flow in it and the brushes seem randomly placed, the smudging/brushing could be better, it looks like you took a red colour from the render and then used "clouds" (If your using photoshop, think there is a similar option on gimp though). There is a lot lacking from this signature like effects and blending with the render, it's quite a few downsides on this one. As said I highly recommend tutorials on deviantart.com (did you use a tutorial for this one?)

Hmm you misspelled "Cart" :o its Kart :

 

 

 

Its really blurry as the render, remove that blur or just make a soft motion blur like you did with baby mario on the whole thing then set it to lighten then erase the main bits.

 

 

 

The background is slightly boring but i see where you were getting at. Maybe add a simple border?

by far the best one is the mario cart nice smudging and render placement. the second one is the next best.

 

 

 

the first one is a terrible render, maybe looking into rendering techniques.the superman sig needs a background or something to make it feel less empty.i'm new to sig making to but keep trying new things and methods.

Colours change too fast in my opinion. Lightning bolts are a bit "meh" in my opinion. 3 Renders, too much to focus on and that they are in different perspectives doesn't help. The text is bad, the colour doesn't go well, the font doesn't go well, the place doesn't go well. Black pixels around the renders. Background is actually quite good in my opinion except for some bad lightning here and there.

 

 

 

Your improving :thumbup:, I said everything negative up there as it's a lot easier to learn from that.

I thought the font was fine lol it is the shows fonts.
