June 18, 200818 yr For lvl 99 Rangers, is full void knight ranger better than say robin hat and full black d'hide? None of the rest of the armor matters, because both would be able to use it. It gives +10% bonus to accuracy(?) and attack strength.
June 18, 200818 yr Depends what you are killing, but 95% of the time the void range is better than black hides. Anything without impossible defence you should use void for.
June 18, 200818 yr For low to mid defence monsters it does, but the +10% accuracy does not make up for the much greater range bonus of d hide for higher defence monsters. Drops: 1x Draconic Visage, 56x Abyssal Whip, 5x Demon Head, D Drops: 37, Barrows Drops: 43, DK Drops: 29GWD drops: 14,000x Bars, 1x Armadyl Hilt, 2x Armadyl Skirt, 4x Sara Sword, 1x Saradomin Hilt, 8x Bandos Hilt, 8x Bandos Platebody, 9x Bandos Tassets, 4x Bandos Boots, 43x Godsword Shard, 82x Dragon BootsDry streak records: Saradomin 412 kills Bandos 988 kills Spirit Mages 633 kills - Slayer Sucks
June 18, 200818 yr yea many people have the misconception that void is the best armour for any ranger no matter what...10% is actually a pretty small bonus if you compare it to the amount of range attack bonus lost from not wearing blk d hide...the 10% damage is not going to be effective too if you are not even able to deal sufficient base damage against the monster's high def in the first place... maxed out melee on 10/10/08, current goal: 94/99 cookinglife may be unfair, but why can't it be unfair in my favor?my fake plant died because i forgot to pretend to water it

June 18, 200818 yr I've had my void range gear for quite a while and I'd say that if you plan to range frequently then it really is a must have. However, as the above have said, if you are fighting something with very high defence (for example the KBD) then your black dragonhide will be of much more use to you because you will have too much trouble hitting it to notice the 10% bonus. In response to the above, as others have said, you do hit higher with the void armour but you hit less frequently. Since hellhounds don't have very high defence you won't notice this so much but if you go to the metal dragons under brimhaven you'll notice the difference.
June 18, 200818 yr Void is probably your best bet 90% of the time. If it is anything like a GWD boss or King Black Dragon, things of this nature... then you will want to use D'hide or Karils. Common range training NPC's however, you will want to use Void 9 time out of 10. Things like Yaks, Fire giants, Ogres, Chinning (with higher range) Experiments.. things of that nature. At metal dragons with high range its a toss up. Whichever you prefer is what you use. I usually use my void but other people still prefer the steady stream of hits from d'hide than a random 20 on occasion. Remember just because void makes your max hit higher, that doesn't necessarily make it "better". Apparently, my signature was to big.
June 18, 200818 yr I'd say void is almost always better. I never use hides anymore tbh. 99 Firemaking | 99 Mage | 99 Range | 99 Hitpoints | 99 Strength | 99 Attack
