Minimum skill total to sign up to p2p.

They should make it so that you need to get a skill total of 500 and have played at least 3 months before you can subscribe to members, thus players already have a good grasp of the game before they come to p2p.

The benifits to the game this will bring are huge, the negatives are too minor to be concerned over.

No Support, this would just annoy people.

No it wouldnt "Just annoy people", it would make p2p a much better environment to play in, with less stupid questions and more players who are actually playing the game not standing by the fountain asking for a girlfriend.

In short its natural selection, the devoted players will easily reach 500 skill total and enter members, the morons will stand by the fountain and ask for girlfriends and never achieve membership.

and if they do this, there will be less p2pers=less money for Jagex=less updates= More complainers. Do you really think total level has anything to do with additude? Seriously?

Three months banishment to 9gag is something i would never wish upon anybody, not even my worst enemy.

Less money for updates? are you kidding? jagex makes about 8 million dollars a month, java programmers get payed about 50,000 a year..

It may be less money in andrew and pauls pockets but not by much.

And yes total level has a lot to do with attitude, if you dont bother to play the game and you sit arround a fountain begging for items and asking people to go out with you, your skill total will be low.

If you play the game interact and socialise (almost a necessity) then your skill total will be high.

I dont think the ammount of p2pers there are will visably change, most people who create a runescape account play it for a while before they join p2p anyway.

The people who rush straight to members are bots, power levelers (who can power level on f2p just as easily till 500 skill total) and immature kids who get there parents to pay for them couse they want the shiny new pixels.

If a rwter gets banned with the skill total restrictions and time limit he will probably just quit rather then waste 3 months lvling on f2p for no profit.

With the current system he goes right back to botting.

Some people like to subscribe in a game right off the bat.

What kind of business sense does it make for a company not to allow a person to pay for their product? Who's to say that person who wants to pay when they have a 200 skill total will still have interest at 500? While this idea would benefit you, it would be a terrible business decision for jagex. And don't go into that "oh they have enough money" routine. That's just illogical.

You've made one of the major fallacies here. Levels do not equate to maturity, they only correlate very loosely. The reason for this is that socialising and acting mature doesn't give you skill levels. The reason why the less mature people limit themselves to f2p is that they don't take the game seriously enough to want to do something about it that will affect them in real life (although when it comes to £3.20, it's more psychological than financial, and less mature people will think this way).

The community in p2p, generally, is quite good. It's not bad enough to need something as drastic as that applied to it which will barely change anything and annoy the skillers.
