pienaple
Haven't a clue how i am going to get it to work properly, etc... But here it is so far. Atm I'm thinking about image mapping it and the building up in Dreamweaver.. CC? I know it doesn't look that good but hey. P.S - I took the photo :P I may start making sigs againRSN: Pie Naple
pienaple
For curved edges i used to curved rectangle tool to draw one, then turn it into a selection + invert and then cut it out. I don't know what going in the bit with the nav bar.. Maybe like a tree thing like you see on most forums.. Such as this: Board index » General Discussions » The Gallery But I'm not sure. Gonna go learn how to image map now >_> P.S - Do you know if its possible to make the page at the bottom just continue? Like keep going as i put more text in? VjuliusT
It's pretty nice , the major flaws (In my opinion) is the boring background colour and that "semi-hard" to read font .
pienaple
You people are just silly >_> Unlike most of you I don't want a background full of brushes and "grunge" textures...Its just a style and i don't want it all gfxie looking. The way i got by this is remembering "Less is more" The more basic is it for me, the better it will look. P.S - +1 to Connor I may start making sigs againRSN: Pie Naple
VjuliusT
Well I didn't mean grunge textures, I meant the colours . P.S - Why are you guys including "P.S" in every single post?
Jopie211
It looks pretty nice so far, but I'd definitely remove the blocks over the photo in the banner. They're really annoying and don't go with the rest of the design very well. But other than that, not bad so far. pixel avvy by me deviantART

pienaple
Thanks, I made be onto something with making text appear over images. I have a topic made in tech forums with someone explaining it to me :) The Image mapping was easy though. Really, believe me, they aren't much harder ;) And this site is quite good in explaining and showing examples, it also helped me out with some problems with css and html earlier... : And for the portfolio, for a first one it looks quite good, but i would say that especially around the text/news boxes it's quite plain. Try out some combinations and look if you can make the boxes more attractive (for example: image backgrounds with low opacity, different borders (colors etc...)). Just look around for idea's on other websites i'd say :
