konzserwas
go back to the list where i told you to deselect everything but core temp and fan
blakdragon39
I"m not finding it. =\ My list goes like this: Core clock \ ROP domain Core clock \ shader domain Memory clock Core temperature Reference duty fan cycle Framerate Event history Hardware acceleration Hardware acceleration \ DD Hardware acceleration \ D3D8 Hardware acceleration \ D3D9 Hardware acceleration \ OGL
konzserwas
i think this means your card doesn't have ambient temperature sensor :wall: Maybe you have nTune?
blakdragon39
Thats my video card diagnostics picture. I'm not too knowledgable about hardware, :P so hopefully it'll help.
Nadril
Well, the 8800GT is a pretty powerful card. Following up on what others are saying though I'd put my bet on Overheating or not enough power going to the card. It would be really nice if you could maybe see if the fan is even working on the card first. On my old 6600GT the fan stopped working and would cause graphical glitches. While I've never heard of the Purple screen of death it might be a cause. i think this means your card doesn't have ambient temperature sensor :wall: Maybe you have nTune? IIRC not everything has one for ambient. I know my machine really only has a sensor for the HD/CPU/GPU, the ambient always comes up with a garbage number like -68. anyways, I would download speedfan and look at the cards temperature black. Other than that maybe just make sure what PSU you have. Or, to make it easier, what is your PCs model? Maybe I could look up what the PSU in it is. konzserwas
That's pretty starnge tbh my GTX is older model from same series but it has three sensors on it (GPU diode, GPU core and GPU ambient) -.- It can't be dead fan, such card would probobly get above max allowed temperature faster than windows loads :shame: I think you really need to look inside the case. That would give a nice big piece of info.
deloriagod
^ I agree with opening the case up to take a look. Disconnecting the cables and such from the back is no big deal. I do it all the time, and everything is color coded or it basically only fits in 1 slot. Opening it is as simple as taking out the 2 big screws holding the side on and sliding the side off (generally it slides toward the rear of the computer). So open it up, take a look and maybe post some pics up here and you'll probably get your help a lot quicker. That would give a nice big piece of info. Well, I have a 9600GT and it doesn't have ambient -- so go figure. Also my 6600GT, as I said, had a broken fan on it. Of course I noticed it quickly when I started up a game and it just skyrocketed up and caused all sort of artifacts. And, honestly, don't ask me how it sustained the temps it was at -- it was ungodly hot. I agree that he needs to look in the case or tell us what make his computer is. The only real info we know is what his video card is, unless I missed something big in that past thread of his.
konzserwas
His card is 88GT I didn't know that i had ambient sensor before i installed everest. Get the trial version it'll show what sensors you have ;) If you like it you can buy, it really gives a lot of useful info about your rig. Or pirate it :-w like i did
Sbrideau
Well, for the broken fan thing, doesn't mean the fan will completely stop working. I remember on my older card, a 7300 LE, the fan had broke, but I didn't know until after I checked the temperatures, apparently the fan was going at max speed, but it was a lot slower than before if temperatures got high enough to damage the GPU, making that anything using the GPU crashed, and even windows wasn't clear on the screen. blakdragon39
Lol well just so everyone knows... I'm a girl. :P Not a big deal. I can HEAR a fan running inside my comp right now, and I can feel the air flow around the vents. If I ever get the chance, I'll try getting some pics of the inside. I'll have to find my parents digital camera though... I don't have one of my own. =\ For now, looking at the outside of my computer: I see Cooler Master TM written along the top. The two disc drives say LG on them, so I'm thinking it's an LG computer. At the bottom is some logo, with the word LITE incorporated on it. Thats all I can really see. =\
