Captainkidd
So apperently I can visit machinima.com though a proxy but not normally though my browser... Whats up? I'm using IE7 and no FireFox isn't an option, "others" who use this computer (even though I bought and paided for the whole thing I still have to let people use it) can barely operate windows calculator, so browser that has more then an adress bar and a back button is simply greek to them. I've already tried it cause a big fuss and ending with one of the "ska*nks" son's to have a black eye and pushed down a set of stairs putting a huge whole in the wall... Good times... Good times... ~ Captainkidd
JoeDaStudd
Check if there are any updates for IE7 on the Microsoft site. Have you got a pen drive? If so install portable Firefox (link) and see if you have the same issue. Is it just that one site, a selection or all? Dracion1
Have you done a virus scan to make sure you haven't got any malware that's causing issues? Always worth a thought. D. V. Devnull
Captainkidd, it sounds like you need to seriously reconfigure that computer, such that you'd never have run into this problem in the first place. The Admin ID should never be used for normal browsing, and all other IDs should be Limited (and/or Power User, depending on situations) so that this kind of damaging problem can't happen. :wall: Anywho, getting down to what's going to be needed to fix that computer, like Dracion1 said, run AntiSpyware (and AntiVirus) scans if you can. Also, if possible, please post an HJT (HiJackThis) Log for the rest of us to view. And finally, if you can, please post up a copy of your Running Tasks and your Hosts File. While this might not be a virus or other malware, seeing what's happened may give us a pointer as to where to go next. :-k ~D. V. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.) Devnull Yup, I'm sure a virus is preventing him from specifically visiting Machinima.com :| Captain, just try using firefox and keep IE as the default browser. e: is this any webpage or just machinima.com , not sure if you were entirely clear in that last post of yours. blackrainbow
If it's only that site you can't access, but can through a proxy server then maybe the site has banned your IP for some reason.
Captainkidd
Well seeing as this is the first time I've ever visiting the site I really doubt they've banned me.. Here's the error I get, also the page trys to load for seconds before this screen comes up... HAHA! Now I'm guessing these are all the websites this computer has visited they all have the local host number thing in front of them "127.0.0.1" and I did a search to see if machinima was even on there and it came up with nothing... Now there's a disable hosts button, what will that acutally do? Do I even need the hosts thingy setup to view the webpage or is it like a cache to help the site load faster? Anyway to delete these and "start-over" again with out paritioning?
