Complicated Pictures

Obviously i draw whenever i'm not playing RS. Yay for permanent threads.

To start, here's a sample of what i (can) do. Read the desc if you want. :)

[hide=Male character wearing Larupia helmet with crafted Guthix emblems, Larupia choker, Larupia buckler, and Dragonhide armor (probably Green or Blue due to its simplistic appearance). Wielding Super-Poisoned Dragon Dagger while readying what seems to be an exaggeration of the Dragon Dagger's "Puncture" skill, renamed to "Disembowel". The floating arm and head is the Dragon Dagger's "spirit".]disembowelte1.jpg[/hide]

More coming soon...

How impulsive of me.

Umm.. yeah, so what exactly am I looking at? I can't really tell, there's just way, way, way, WAY too much going on here, it all looks like a mass of gray shapes and scribbles...

Less, in this case, is more certainly more. Simply pilling on stuff into a picture doesn't always make it look good...

Don't feel bad, but you only get Five/Ten kitties for this one...

Amazing, much easier on the eyes when its colored. I couldn't really distinguish much from the black and white drawing, but the colored version is very good.

99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving.

Jagex'd out of my untrimmed hp cape on 6/14/2011.

My advice to you, if you want to get serious into drawing, is to look into anatomy. I can tell your going for a more cartoony look, but if you combine that with a bit of studies of anatomy you could do so much better.

I drew this sketch of a similar stuctured person, just as a general reference of that body set. I hope this helps...

P.S. I know it's not very symmetrical (at all), but I was trying to get the point across.

Well it looks nice and you certainly have some skill, but there's a general composition rule that says you should distribute the details. Right now it looks like you tried to fill the whole thing with tiny details. Leaving some areas blank will reinforce the detailed areas and they will also drag more attention.

Also try to pick less saturated colors, and define your light source clearly because I see some areas that lean a bit towards pillow shading.

Good luck.

The "good" news is that I'm slowly integrating whatever bits of anatomical study I digested on to my style.

The "bad" news is that you won't see much of it when I develop a character like the last one I posted, because for those kinds of characters I'm trying to kick the rules of anatomy right in the balls in hopes that I can make the character look as distinct as possible. Sorry, guys, but i don't feel like WoW-ing those particular characters to crap.

How impulsive of me.
