July 9, 200818 yr I figured that, after I had reach my long awaited goal of 70 attack, I would get a whip. And, I also figured that, since sharks sell for around 1k each, and it would be a nice way to raise my fishing to 81, I could fish 2k sharks. But now, after only fishing about 15 sharks, my patience is running thin. Is there a way I can prevent myself from quitting so fast? I have tried browsing the internet and stuff while I fish, but sometimes I get too distracted and log out. Gahh... Anyways, thanks!
July 9, 200818 yr Author Wow that's some great insight there. But then I could say: wantingness/need for a whip > my hatred of fishing; still, I just don't know. I know I really want this whip, and I'm willing to fish sharks. After all, I'm getting two fishing levels out of it! I'm just asking for ideas to keep me from boredom. It's not like I absolutely hate the skill. :D
July 9, 200818 yr Just try out different skills. I dislike most non-combat stats, but I tried woodcut once and found that I actually enjoy it. Woodcutting yew can be decent money, and with autoers gone now it is easier than in the past.
July 9, 200818 yr Pick up something like drawing or guitar and do it while you fish. Or just read a book. Join "DG Sweepers" Clan Chat for Dungeoneering Floors | Accepting all tipiters who are Willing to Learn |
July 9, 200818 yr Author Yes.. I remember cutting yews with the autos. Good suggestion! Maybe if I eventually get 1k sharks, which, if I calculate based off of my rate of play, taking about one day, I could try cutting yews. Then I would need something to keep me from burning them!
July 9, 200818 yr Just keep browsing and watching tv or whatever you want to do. Just turn the volume up pretty loud so you can hear the sounds of Runescape. That helps me remember Im playing the game, etc. lol. July 9, 200818 yr I am still really against all of you saying that he should just do something else completely when he fishes. Why play the game if you are going to do something that you don't enjoy? If you look at my stats you can see which skills I like, I focus on those stats that I enjoy and I have made hundreds of millions doing them.

Many people don't enjoy anything that produces money, so you have to just grit your teeth and do it. If I can learn guitar while I make money and fishing exp on RS, I consider that a win. July 9, 200818 yr If I can remember it, here is a quote: Pleasure in the work puts perfection in the skill If you do not enjoy fishing sharks then don't do it. At this stage you sort of are allowed to quit with your dignity. Don't ask me how that works :? Some things you can do though are... o Listen to music o Watch T.V. o Watch YouTube o Read a book o Play on your PSP/Nintendo DS My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

Obviously I'm with you in enjoying combat *points at sig*, but this guy doesn't even have a whip. He can't exactly rush off to God Wars can he? Always great people to talk to. Aswell as someone to make fun out of. :
July 9, 200818 yr Author Thanks for the feedback everyone, and after fishing two loads of sharks, I have noticed that it is not that bad when I have a friend to talk to. Though, there are many times when he isn't on. XD Don't worry, the enjoyment I find in fishing will surely build. :] And not to brag or anything, but I just hit 80 fishing. I'm kind of excited for 81.. 80 was more of a milestone, though.

I find it sad if anyone seriously likes watching their character sit there and catch fish while you periodically click on the various fish spots then run to the bank and return. Only way to keep that interesting is talking to friends and fellow scapers, or browsing the other forums and internet or w/e. July 9, 200818 yr The best way to prevent your patience from running out fishing sharks is to not fish sharks, duh! : It's not as if they're a very good moneymaker anyway. I'm 99 fishing and I can barely catch 150 sharks an hour. I mean, you'd be better off mining pure essence, for Pete's sake. :P Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
