so i talked to my parents about it

and they are good with it

my moms even helping me find a job ::'

is there anything i could do relating to computers after school?

other than that its probably going to be some department store, walmart, lowes, homedepo, somethin like that

I would reccommend getting your hands on an old, really cheap computer (doesn't even need to work) and practice pulling it apart and putting it back, try getting so you can do it blindfolded ;) (I will be doing the same with my old computer once I have the space to do so)

$5.50? Isn't there something called minimum wage?

:wall: He said that it was a typo, and he gets paid 6.50, which is the New Hampshire minimum

I could swear minimum was around $7.15 but whatever.

Congress passed a bill to raise the national minimum wage to $7.15 by 2010, I think.

Nice resignation letter, very professional. As long as your boss doesn't hate you, you've got yourself a letter of reccomendation.

When you're young, it's going to be very hard to find work that you will like whole lot.

You don't have work experience, so you can't show that you are a good worker.

You don't have life experience, because you haven't had the opportunity.

And, your young, and you will probably will be more interested in having fun and being with your friends.

(All generalized based on what I've seen when hiring young people)

When looking for a new job, only pick fast food as a last resort. Not only is it terrible food, but you have to deal with managers that don't know what their doing because they've only worked there for a few months, and got hired because they stuck around and other crew people who aren't the good workers. Head to your downtown area. Get a job as a waiter, or a secretary, or whatever is available at the time.

And definatly talk to your boss and tell them that your quitting. It shows that you have enough character to speak directly to them instead of through a phone or a letter.

Uhh... people quit a different way other than giving their supervisors a letter of resignation?

Yep, I Remember working at Atlantic Superstore (Canada atlantic provinces), and everytime someone quit their job, they just called right before their shift. Nice way to have a good reputation :-# You know why I know that? I'm always the person they called, maybe cause they know I will say yes. Now I work at a different department store, still in food though (Price Chopper if it rings any bells for other people, part of Sobeys). Only problems is if they try to hire people, which they have tried a few times since I work there (Nov 07), they either get fired or just quit, but them are nicer, they call a few days before. I like working there though. Managers like that more than the first example I gave. I personnally give them notice as soon as I can (2 weeks), they have time to train the new person, and I get the chance to come back the year after if I need work :D.

OT: I say go for the department store you like the most before trying the others :). It's always more fun working where you like to work than where you just get annoyed at the job very easily. I personnally like food departement store, but that's just until I go back to college :P. If you like jobs like wallmart, go there, but if you like food better, go to a grocery department store ;).
