The coal pile or whatever and the ground, if done properly, would boost this sigs quality up, a lot. But good work. The rest of the scene needs more dark and light shadows to boost the contrast. The perspective looks off in places (hammer, face, fireplace, barrels) and there is a lot of empty space that makes the sig look more "plain" than it really is.
