Shiny
Well. The time has come to download, and claim my free 30 day trial of photoshop. It is nothing like the good 'ol gimp that I use, and I prefer gimp as well. I'm wondering....where can I get tutorials and basics to photoshop? I understand that devart has tutorials but no beginner things. If anyone here wants to help me, I'd appreciate it heaps. Here is my attempt at photoshop, nothing great, but explain how I can improve in photoshop. I used 2 stocks, and a brushes and filters for it. Thanks for your help! VjuliusT
Heres what I did, I opened a 500x500 with a transparent background used the brushes with different colours and tried out the effects (After my first signature), also it helps a lot to give your friends a "butload" of questions over MSN. Sam
Not really anything I like this time. It's got no focal point, but the colours seem alright. If you want some good tuts, look on Planetrenders Forums. There a a few pinned tut houses where there a loads of tuts that have beginner up to advanced tuts. dsavi
Don't know about you, but after trying out Photoshop CS2 for 30 days I became addicted to it, and I now use CS3 extended. I know, I love the fact that GIMP is free, but there are some things that GIMP hasn't replaced TBH. Like adjustment layers and panorama-making automation. (Both of which I use all the time) The screen I'm using is too crappy to give any CC, seriously. It wrecks everything it tries to display.
yaff2
i actually quite like it, as for the skill and what not into it, it doesnt seem like much, but you are yet a beginner. but the overall look IMO is real nice 1980 Berlinetta with a 350, bored, mild cam, intake carb, headers, exhaust

Jopie211
Not a big fan of the signature TBH, but obviously you're still busy getting the hang of everything. Not sure about where to find beginner tutorials for PS, I'd just Google. pixel avvy by me deviantART
Shiny
I've decided to stay doing GImp, as it is easier (for me) and i'm used to it.
Nadril
Honestly, goodtutorials is a pretty good site. Anyways its much too dark, and really flat. The red scratches kind of detract from the obvious focal point (the robot or w/e it is). I would make the red slashes darker and bring out the robot into focus more. The colors don't really match much either, an easy way to mess with colors is to hit Ctrl+B (color balance) and adjust the values slightly. I also Like to use curves (Layer > Layer styles > New curves layer [or something like that]) for color.
Shiny
Robot  ....ROBOT!!! It's bloody wolverine! I see what you mean though. I'm not really planning to use photoshop. But I guess, slwoly over time i'll move from GIMPZORS to ps.
