The market is too disrupted, the GE is too easy to manipulate, and most importantly, nobody has trust in the rares market anymore. It's no longer wise for merchants to buy them all up and wait for the price to rise as demand skyrockets, which makes it hard for the rares to go through their usual cycle of going up, dipping a little, and then going even higher.
