Let me simplify. Ignore everything in Balke's posts and people responding to him. He's just trying to cover for his lack of knowledge and doing a bad job of it.

Upgrading a laptop is a bad idea. Lot of work, kind of hard, generally a waste of money. That is assuming there's anything you can do to upgrade your laptop. A p3 at 800mhz with 512mb of ram needs no more ram, and I doubt you could change the vid card. Depending on the mobo, you might be able to get a slightly faster cpu, but I doubt it.

Bottom line: don't bother trying to upgrade it. Save the money, get a new dell. They have $750 off cupons all of the time. Use one and get a new machine.

alrighty, maybe ill save up or sumin. or run this 1 til it dies :D

Well, as long as you get your computer cleaned up, you should be fine while playing Runescape. If you want to play games with halfway decent graphics, I'd recommend you get a desktop. Laptops aren't really made for gaming, and, as other people have mentioned, they are a pain in the rear to upgrade..

Ye as the other people said those older laptops arn't that upgradable
