Gold bowl from Legends quest

Featured Replies

Hey, I returned to RS recently and have to get 69 smithing for my final quest. I'm way too lazy to make cannon balls so I'm buying gold ores from 66-69. Turns out that costs a good amount so I was wondering if I could make gold bowls from the legends quest to boost my xp per ore.

I could swear I saw it being said a long time ago along with that you could alch them for decent money as well. When i searched for the bowl in Tip it's item db all i could find was a blessed bowl with no alch specified. Anyone know if this is decent exp and money?

I don't know really, but if I remember correctly you're able to fail making the bowl. If you fail a lot, it might be better just to sell the bars.

I fail to see how "buying gold bars from 66-69" is actually going to train your smithing.

Gold bar's aren't smithable they are craftable, buying gold bars can get your some craft levels but not smithing.

Unless you mean your buying gold ore to make gold bars?

if you want to profit from it bracelets are the way to go usually if i rember rightly if you already have the gem and the nat all bracelets make a profit from alching

If you already have the nat you can buy emeralds and make profit

smithing those bowls is fail. You've got to click alot, have to alch all the bowls if you want some of your money back, not that good xp.

Don't do it.

Eh, you can smith gold bars into 2 things: the golden bowl and the golden helmet.

Consider this from tip.it:

Each gives you 30 smith xp. The helmet uses 3 bars; the bowl uses 2. The helmet high alchs for 0gp; the bowl high alchs for 420gp. That's a 210gp return for each bar, but you do have to high alch them. You can't sell them in a store. So you would basically smith two bars into 1 item and use ½ a nat on each bar that way.

Might be worth looking into if you want cheap bars to smith. But at only 15xp per bar, it doesn't seem worthwhile to me. The last time I checked, the interface was hella clunky and you had to smith one bowl at a time. And yes, they can fail.
