i really dont like the way you have to pay every 15hours of combat and this has prevented me buying barrows armour so far....one reason being im only killing moss giants at the moment so dont have any need for stronger armour ? is this true ? should i only use if im fighting higher lev monsters like dragons ?

 

 

 

also will barrows armour work with a whip ? or other because i read somewher its only worth having if its the whole set ?

You can either use the whole set for the set effect but you only really need that when doing long slayer tasks (guthans) where you need small health boosts every now and then but won't waste inventory space on food.

 

Veracs is also useful but only if you're doing KQ runs or whatever.

 

 

 

If you're only doing moss giants then you should mix and match with barrows armour which gives the best crush defence for example torags body... guthans legs veracs helm (not saying that gives the best as it's just an example)

 

 

 

The helmets are usually more expensive so only get one if you really need it (try using rune helm and if that still leaves allot then go for a barrows)

 

 

 

The weapons are also very slow so you could just use a dragon weapon instead.

First of all, this belongs in help and advice. Second, if you work out how much it costs you to repair barrows armour, it's only 12k per hour. So if it saves you that much money in food, then yes use it. Third, some sets such as guthans(heals) dharoks(raises strength) veracs (ignored prayer/defense bonuses) should be used as the whole set. The other ones (Torags, Karils, and Ahrims) are better to use with the best weapon you have.

Umm, some of the sets suck as full (Except Guthan, Verac and maybe Dharok if you're a damage [bleep])

 

But stuff like Torag helm, body and legs + whip works well =)

Yes they do work with whip, normal crossbows, normal staffs etc. you dont need the whole set for getting the best of it.

 

I like using whip dfs + torag pl8 and legs for slayer

It never fails me and I can achieve a 122+ str bonus rating which helps me deal even more dmg.

Use a helm of Neitiznot, or at least a berserker/warrior helm.

 

 

 

Also, so you know, the DFS costs at least 25 million... but it's also pretty much the best shield in the game, for every kind of monster (except basilisks). Add an obsidian cape, dragon boots, and your best Recipe for Disaster gloves or a combat bracelet.

the only way the set doesn't work is if you don't have all the pieces.

 

I prefer to use a mix of sets for various activities.

 

For example:

 

 

 

When I go to Bandos, Ill use a v helm, K top, and v skirt. The Armour stat bonuses are the same, but not the effect.

There are actually some really cheap pieces of armor. You can buy guthans top and chainskirt for about 380k all together. The weapons arent really worth it for normal training but as for a helm you can try torags, warrior and berserker helms.
